Weekend Fun–Lots Done & Organizing

Ryan was gone this weekend so my parents came over on Saturday to help me get some things done around the house.  I had a hair appointment also, so they were able to watch Beckham while I did that as well.  I love when my parents come over.  I get so much done and it’s nice to have company!

I had a pot of coffee ready and some freshly baked chocolate chip banana bread ready to go!  We made a quick trip to Kroger to get some milk and creamer before they came!  This is Beckham “helping” me carry in the bag with creamer.  Can’t help but think about the days he’ll so kindly meet me at the car to bring in the groceries for his mama!

Then after my parents arrived, I headed to get my hair done…I went a little darker (you can see in a picture towards the end).  When I got back, my mom had organized my Christmas décor in the garage!  I get my love for organizing from her!  Our garage is my BIG project this summer, hopefully before it’s 100+ degrees outside!

Then we tackled these shelves.  Before I left, we realized after opening it, that it came with ZERO hardware.  So my dad made a trip to Lowes while I was gone and bought the supplies we needed.  He also bought all the supplies I need to stain our front door (that’s another weekend).  Parents are the best!  I still can’t believe he bought all that for us!

Soon, I’ll add 4 white framed pictures above the shelves so they match.  I was going to spray paint the frames I already had there, but I have another idea in mind using my love of design in Photoshop!  Coming soon.

Oh and another project my dad installed while I was gone was this baby!  I have been dying to do this.  I LOVE it!  It cleared half a shelf in our pantry and is much easier to grab than before.

Then we went through the house and my dad showed me how to clean door hinges to eliminate the squeak!  He bought the WD-40 also at Lowes…I told you they were the best!  Now I know how to do it in the future!

I did this the night before my parents came over.  Organized my sock drawer, tank top draw, and bra drawer (I’ll spare you the pic of that one).  Organizing is kicked into high gear in the Snyder house thanks to my newly purchased Power Productivity Program!  Just watching her videos is inspiring enough.  I just need to add the drawer dividers from The Container store.

Dress/Boot socks, winter socks, Crew/Soccer socks, and ankle socks!  I purged a ton in the process.

Spaghetti strap on the left and workout tanks in the rest by type.  I purged a lot here too!

My dad also cleaned our laptop and desktop computers.  The laptop was so slow I would get up to do things while it loaded!  That’s ridiculous!  I’m so thankful my dad is a computer nerd guy.  Brand new and ready to go!  I needed this in order to get some old pictures of Beckham!

I had decided to stay the night with them and go to church with them the next day!  So, Beckham and I got some stuff and headed that way!  Pizza at their house and TV watching and talking!  That is in between trying to get Beckham to fall asleep.  This was him at 10:30 pm playing the piano.  Completely content to be up with us.  We’re having some big sleep issues right now!  He finally fell asleep at 11:30 after crying it out!

Church on Sunday at my childhood church. Message was beautiful – listening to when God interrupts “our lives” to do His will in our lives.  It was also good to see old church members!  Feels like home!  We go to a really big church now and it always makes me miss a smaller church when I visit!  Then family lunch at Cristina’s with all of the O’Rear crew (my side of fam) minus my little sis in Louisiana!

Ryan finally came home late Sunday night and got to see Beckham after work today!  It was funny…as soon as Ryan walked in the door, B jumped in his car, ready for him to take him on a walk.

Although Ryan was gone, I enjoyed hanging with my parents!  It’s nice to live close.
