Day 1…My Story in 250 Words

230686_512706874339_9891_n

I was born February 16, 1985 in Dallas, Texas to two wonderful parents who are still together to this day!  I grew up with an older sister, a brother 15 months younger than me, and a younger sister.  My niece has lived with us since I was in 8th grade also.  My family has shaped who I am today.  I went to a Christian school from K-12.  I loved it.  You could say I was a little sheltered, but in retrospect, that was a good thing.  I’m a Christian!  I started playing soccer when I was 8.  Played in college for SMU (Olivia O’Rear).  I still play as an “adult” for fun.  Majored in Business-Marketing and Elementary Education.  Met hubby in high school when he was assisting the baseball team in his off season (he played minor league ball in Louisiana).  Our families have known each other since before I was born, but he’s 8 years older, so we never crossed social paths (my mom and his dad were in a band together…funny fact).  Dated throughout all of college and married right after I graduated in 2007.  He’s the only kiss that literally took my breath away.  Taught 3rd grade for 5 years, all while paying off our house so I could have my dream job of being a full-time mom!  Paid off our house in 33 months (this is a huge part of my story).  Had my son, Beckham, in November 2011.  Living my dream!

I’m very detailed so this was very hard to condense, but 250 words exactly!  Perfectionist much?

Awesome story! 🙂 Do you mind me asking which team he played for. I live in Louisiana, and maybe I've heard of it. Looking forward to reading the rest of this series.

Thanks Kayla! He played for Alexandria Aces for a couple years and then for Shreveport Sports most of his minor league career. He was a pitcher (lefty). Shreveport was my second home in the summers!

Wow, seriously?! I had both of my girls in the hospital just down the street from Bringhurst Field where the Aces played. Sadly, I don't think they have played in the last season or so. Not sure if it is a money issue or if the community has lost interest. We live about 30 mins north of Alexandria. It's a small world. 🙂 Btw, I love your menu/shopping trip posts. I have about the same budget, and it just nice to see what other families eat for the same amount. I am also a big Dave Ramsey fan!
