So this is my first day home with my little one while all the school aged kids and teachers go back to school. I’ve loved seeing all the pictures on Facebook of the kids on their first day and all the decorated classrooms. A while back someone told me to keep myself busy on this day, because this would be a hard day for me knowing all my friends and former students were going back to school. I expected to wake up feeling a little empty or sad not to see my friends. Well, it’s now 12:30 and this feels absolutely GREAT! Do I miss my friends and the kids? Of course. Though I could not help but wake up and feel extremely fortunate to be here with Beckham! He even let me sleep in till 8:30. He usually wakes at 7:30, but he was being a good “student.”

We love you and think you’re the best dad out there! We have a surprise for you when you get home - Banana bread for your breakfast, your favorite candy, and a home cooked meal! See you soon!
