Pre-Christmas Fun

Last Wednesday, Ryan texted me during the day and said “Santa was coming TODAY.”  I had no clue what he was talking about and he didn’t reply when I was like ????   The day goes on and I forget about it and I’m sitting at home on the computer with Beckham, when I guy in a Lowe’s shirt walks in and Ryan says “Here’s your Christmas present.”  Look what he brought…

A brand spankin new stove top DOUBLE oven!!!  I hated our previous electric oven with coils…they always moved, were hard to clean, and were an eye sore.  I have been saying “I hate this stove” for quite some time, but our big savings right now is going to a car, so I dismissed the idea till next year maybe.  A while back Ryan had asked me my thoughts on some specific ovens, but we TALK a lot before big purchases like this so it was no big deal to be talking about ovens we like.  Fast forward a couple of months and he surprises me!  I was totally shocked!  The double oven feature is such a bonus!  I’ve already used the separate ovens simultaneously.   I was happy to see the old one go.

Last Thursday was Beckham’s last day of preschool before Christmas break.  While he was at school, my best friend and I went to a local diner for her birthday and had lunch and pie…with 3 kids.  It was chaotic, but we laughed…and left the floor a mess.  Every bit of that pie was delicious!

Afterwards, I headed over to Beckham’s party.  They did a book exchange and decorated cookies.

Friday, I woke up feeling the start of a cold.  B had a cough as well.  Elf left a Gingerbread house with a note for us to decorate it.  Beckham had a blast doing this.

I baked 24 little jars of THIS chocolate chip pound cake for Ryan’s co-workers.

These two wanted to sit together and take a picture, but then Beckham wanted to give this look.  #threenager

Still sick!  Ryan has let me sleep in till 9:00-10:00am this week to recoop (although I get in bed at 2:00am).  It has helped and shown me the importance of sleep and it’s ability to keep you healthy.  Maddox ended up getting a cough.  Beckham and I are on the mend and hoping Maddox’s cough just goes away 🙂 since there’s nothing you can really do at this age.

On Sunday, my parents celebrated 40 YEARS OF MARRIAGE!  They are the most selfless, giving, fun parents ever!  Their home is always open to any and everyone.  The more the merrier in their eyes.  I’m not kidding when I say their house is always full of people…they have a revolving door!  They celebrated with each other the night before, but took us all (minus my middle sis in LA and my older sis) in a limo to look at Christmas lights and have dinner on their actual anniversary because that’s when everyone else could do it. #selfless  Beckham had a lot of fun.  We left Maddox at home with my wonderful mother in law who always is so kind to watch our kiddos!

Yesterday, we went to visit Ryan’s PawPaw for his 92nd birthday!  They live in Dallas so it’s about an hour away, but it’s always good to see him and his wife Marie!

Here is PawPaw holding Beckham when he was 1 month old!

We have 2 more days till Christmas and we still have cookies to bake, a couple of crafts to make (maybe), and some baking to do for Christmas day.  I’m actually done with Christmas shopping and all the presents are wrapped except Ryan’s.  I’m closing my shop today for a couple of weeks so I’m going to enjoy some much needed family time and not worry at the end of the day what orders need to be finished and sent.  I plan on having a ton of new signs for 2015 so stay tuned on my shop’s IG @joyfulartdesigns.

Lastly, this is what Elf was up to this week:
