Happy 4th of July! I am so thankful to live in a free country. And grateful for the men and women who sacrifice their lives for our freedom. I hope you are having a great day celebrating America! I plan on working out, cleaning, possibly swimming, and then we’re ending the day with great friends!
Well, June flew by. Ryan started and ended his first, and only, session of summer school so he is officially on break for another few weeks until school starts in August. He has some basketball camps here and there, but for the most part, he’s off.
We are taking two trips this month. One is local and one is not. Ryan and I are taking our FIRST vacation together in 5 years. We haven’t been anywhere solo since Beckham was born. We are going to Las Vegas for our 9 year anniversary. I cannot wait, but I’m also kind of sick about leaving the kiddos. If you have any suggestions for things we should do or places to go/eat, please let me know. Our second trip is about 45 minutes away at a resort with a huge water park for the kiddos. We’re going with my brother and his family. We all cannot wait.
As for goals in June, these are the only things I accomplished this month. Make sure to grab your free printable at the end of June’s review!
Personal:
–Plan and throw Maddox’s party (Fiesta theme) I ended up having it at the splash pad, but we had fun anyway.
-Work on Morning, Nightly, and Cleaning routines – This was a whole lot of mess and not even close to “routine”…not sure I should expect routine in the summer.
-Finish bookcase in office – Ugh, no. Can someone just come over and decorate my book shelf (definitely not a talent of mine)
-Paint file cabinet (white) – No, and this is probably last on my list 🙂
-Paint fire place mantle – I almost started this, but my painter (the one who did our cabinets) said I needed to prime it first so I need to get that.
-Chore chart for Beckham – No, what is wrong with me?!
-Dentist appointments for B and I – Can we just switch dentists yet? Always get the better insurance, always!
–Set up installation for new fence – We have several estimates and will make a decision this month.
-Search around for new flooring (possibly install if it’s in our budget) – We’re postponing this for later after we’ve done other updates.
–Paint kitchen cabinets white (we’re hiring out but I need to set a date) – Yes, love them. I’ll share a before and after whenever I have the kitchen cleaned 🙂
–Cross some things off our Summer Activities List (I guess I should share that in a post) – I shared that post here. I went to see a movie (Finding Dory) with B and our friends. We had Maddox’s birthday. And we’ve had some fun days at the pool.
-Clean out master closet (bleh) – Half way done.
Blogging:
–Complete Unit 4 and 5 of my blogging course (EBA). I was held up in Unit 3 with structuring my site and posts. I still have lots of work to do with old posts, but I feel I can move on and fix them as needed. I did finish Unit 4 and I’m currently on Unit 5.
–Grow page views by 10,000. I don’t stress too much about page views, but it’s good to have a number in mind. Well, I guess it would have been a good idea for me to write down my page views at the beginning of the month in order to know if I’ve grown. 🙂 It keeps growing though, so that is progress.
Joyful Art Designs:
-Add all designs to my shop that are complete, but sitting in files on my computer. – Nope.
–Make free printables for blog readers (at least once a month). – I have one for you this week! I wanted to create a summer printable. The lemon graphic is watercolor.

On to goals for July. I’ll start with blogging goals, then Joyful Art Designs goals, and finish with personal goals.
Blogging:
-Finish Unit 5-7 of blogging course. There are 12 units but these 3 are heavy and time consuming. All of it has been time consuming, but such is blogging when you are a full time mom and small business owner.
-Understand SEO better. I don’t really know how to measure this besides getting full use out of my SEO plugin that I recently installed.
Joyful Art Designs:
-Add at least 8 signs to shop.
-Give away 2 more printables for blog readers this month.
Personal:
-Drink tons of water. My goal is 60 ounces a day. I am consistently dehydrated which is bad for a multitude of reasons.
-Get better sleep. My goal is 7-8 hours. I have really been having trouble falling asleep (something I haven’t struggled with since having kids). If you have any suggestions on ways to fall asleep, let me know (I’m so tired when I lay down, but can’t fall asleep).
-Chore chart for Beckham. I’m officially a loser mom if I don’t do this this month. 🙂
-Finish bookcase in office so I can finally show y’all my newly decorated office!
-Clean out master closet.
-Declutter rooms in house. I plan on walking through the house and anything that is sitting out (sadly, there is a lot), I will either donate or find a home for it. I’m adding pictures to my Instagram of places in my home that I have decluttered. You can find them on my account and with the hashtag #JPdeclutteringproject2016
And I’m keeping my goals to just that. This month is busy, so I’ll aim to complete the ones above. Hope you have a great week!

I’d been looking for a chore chart and scored a magnetic one at the Target dollar spot for $3 the other day. It might tide you over til you find the exact one you want 🙂

Thanks Heather! I’ll have to check it out

I find that it’s always harder to get thins done in the summer. For me, there’s something about being off-schedule, that makes it harder to focus on my projects and goals.
Happy Fourth!
