Friday Favorites

I can’t believe it’s already Friday. For some reason this week flew by. I’m linking up today to share some favorites lately.

Friday Favorites 01

One

#1 Purging Nail Polish

I went through my nail polish the other day and purged so many. It was ridiculous the colors I had and how similar some were. I even had two of the same exact colors that I hadn’t even worn. I have a problem, and it’s picking up nail polish at the store impulsively.

Here is a glimpse of my organized nail polishes. I plan on doing a post about how I keep them organized and how I do my nails…I get asked this question so much in real life.

This is what I’m giving away. I plan on giving this to my older sister.

Two

#2 Blue/Violet Nail Color

Speaking of nail polish, I’m obsessed with this color. “Violets are Blue” by Salon Perfect. Although this is a favorite color, I’m not sure I’ll do this again because it chipped so fast. It’s a matte color with a clear top coat to make it shiny. I’ve found that matte polishes can chip a lot faster. But I also thought the top coat bubbled up too much so maybe that was it. Who knows, but the color was SO pretty!

Three

#3 Creative Minds

fun oatmeal

He always asks for blueberries and strawberries to put on his fruit and this is how he likes to decorate it before he eats it. He’s been watching a little too much Master Chef Jr.

Four

#4 Funny Truths

I can’t tell you how much I’ve had to do this this summer. I literally have had to have out loud conversations with Jesus to keep from losing it.

Five

#5 Fun Times with Friends

IMG_6395

One great thing about summer is we get together with a bunch of families (including our own) all throughout the week. It can be hard with young kids, but I just love spending time with people (in general, I’m a homebody though). This picture was when we were at the pool with my best friend Kristen and her kiddos.

Six

#6 Purging Clothes

consignment sales

I mentioned this in my last post, but I have officially purged every item of clothing the boys once wore. It is all at a consignment sale as we speak and whatever is leftover, I will keep for the next consignment sale they have (or donate to someone). Feels good to get stuff out of our house.

Seven

#7 Be Still

I mentioned in my last post too that my parents had the boys Saturday and Sunday (it was an unplanned thing) and I really needed that break. Ryan was gone too at a basketball camp so the house was really quiet. I loved the stillness and freedom, but also realized I’d give anything for noisy boys to fill my house…I just love them so much.

And that’s it for favorites today. We plan on cooking some steaks tonight and getting some stuff done around the house. I just picked out two blush pinks for the nursery to try and see which I like to paint her room…hopefully I’ll settle on a color and we can start painting. Eek!

I love purging things — it is so freeing! I am SO interested in a nail polish post and I also would love to know where you got those nail polish organizers!

I recently took a break from gel and have been so disappointingly reminded how fast regular nail polish chips. Ugh!

Girl you are doing some nesting!! 😉 I love it!! I donated a ton of clothes and shoes the other day and it feels so good to get stuff OUT!! Can’t wait to hear about how you organize your nail stuff! My polishes are all thrown in a glass jar and it is a pain to get to the ones at the bottom!

If you know a church that does mission trips to Haiti they might take your nail polish you don’t want. My SIL goes to Haiti once a year and she said the women love to get nail polish. And the little boys love matchbox cars. She taken pounds of both of those with her on trips courtesy of our family. 😉 Just a thought!

Oh I’d love to do that! I’ll even check with our church to see if that is a possibility. Thank you!
