I haven’t done Friday Favorites in a while, but I have a few for you today…except it’s on a Monday. The events from last Thursday night in Dallas kept me up all night with so much hurt and confusion so I skipped posting (I had about half of this post written), but wanted to go ahead and share them today. I might talk about my thoughts on everything tomorrow, but I’m still debating it (I know how words can get twisted so I’m hesitant).
I have quite a bit of favorites for you today though…
{ONE}: A Clean Dining Room:
My dining room went from this….
to this….
This is where we stored all our kitchen items while our cabinets were painted. I finally cleared it off this week. All of those things you see on the dining room were donated! I purged a lot!
{TWO}: These tanning lotions
I love this brand for inexpensive self tanner. From left to right:
–Face Moisturizer – This stuff is amazing. I use the fair to medium shade, but it literally gives me just the right glow on my face. Plus it has sunscreen in it. It goes on great too…not oily at all and I have oily skin in the summer.
–Foaming Daily Moisturizer – I’ve used this for years and think it’s great too. I like the foam better than lotion for even application and QUICK drying. The lotion is good, but the foam dries super fast and I can go about my day without feeling slippery. I used to use the Fair to Medium shade, but I can’t ever seem to find it and I grabbed this one day and I don’t think it’s too dark for me (and I’m pretty pale naturally).
–3 Days To Glow Daily Moisturizer – I like to have the lotion kind as well when I really want to moisturize (after shaving usually) so I got this one for faster results. Works just like the daily lotion, but more noticeable quicker.
–Instant Sun Sunless Tanning Mousse – Funny story…I went to pick up the Daily foam for the first time this summer and I couldn’t find the bottle you see above. I found the instant sun bottle and just assumed it was new packaging for this summer (didn’t look at the bronzer
{THREE}: Organized Spaces
I’m really trying to organize my house and minimize stuff. I’m definitely not a minimalist, but I have learned more stuff drives me NUTS! It clutters my head and I get stuck in a rut. Literally I freeze and am not productive. Here are a couple of spaces I’ve organized (at least that I’ve documented). This top one is our vitamins and supplements. My shakers go on the second shelf, but they were being washed. The bottom picture is of my cabinet under my bathroom sink. I decluttered a lot of items and what you see are travel size stuff, lotions, shampoos/conditioners, perfumes, and hair products.
{FOUR}: This salad dressing
If you’re fan of Ranch dressing, you must try this stuff. It’s called Bolthouse Farms Classic Ranch. It’s only 45 calories per 2 Tablespoons and 3g of fat. That’s pretty good for Ranch. And the best part, it tastes amazing. Not like a knock off version. It’s yogurt based. I put it on this salad of lettuce, cucumber, tomato, and chicken. I’ve only found it at a local grocery store…Market Street. I’m not sure where else it’s sold.
{FIVE}: Coffee Creamers
My two favorite creamers right now are International Delight’s Southern Butter Pecan and Coffee Mate’s Natural Bliss Salted Caramel. I prefer the Butter Pecan. Coffee creamer is the one thing I will never give up, even if I’m eating super healthy. I’ve definitely lowered the amount I put in, but I love this stuff.
{SIX}: Peach Pie with a crumble topping
I made this pie for the 4th of July and it was amazing! Seriously, so good. I actually think it would be even better with apples, so I’ll try that next time. It’s actually called Caramel Crumble Peach Pie BUT I made a couple changes from the original.
- I used a store bought pie crust to put the peach filling in.
- I used a caramel sauce called Bosco Sea Salt Caramel Sauce (from Walmart, found where all the ice cream toppings are).
{SEVEN}: 4th of July Weekend
We had a great weekend celebrating the 4th of July. We started it off with a wedding on Saturday at my alma mater (SMU) and it really made me miss college. They’ve added a bunch and the once beautiful campus, is even prettier!
We went to church on Sunday and then my parents for burgers and swimming!
And then we spent July 4 (Monday) at our good friends, The Wares’s new home! We had a front row seat to fireworks. Their neighbors were shooting fireworks all around us…it was pretty neat to have them so close. We ate that peach pie with ice cream outside as we watched the fireworks. We then let the kiddos take a turn at some. It was a great 4th and we’ve deemed it an annual thing now 🙂

Happy Monday!
I think a lot of us have been wrestling with feelings of sadness and frustration these alst few days or so…
Your decluttering is inspiring me! And now I’m craving peach pie…

I love that salad dressing! I’ve found it at Walmart too, but not sure if it’s at every Walmart! Have a good week! 😉

Happy Monday!! I hope you do come back tomorrow and share your thoughts. I honestly enjoy reading your blog and relate on so many levels. I love the content you put out and love the fact you don’t try t sell anything to your audience.

Ok first my heart is hurting too and I’m so glad you addressed the Dallas shootings. We cannot turn a blind eye and pretend this isn’t going on in our country.
On a lighter note, love that salad dressing!! I love the jergens tanners too, for some reason I always forget to apply them daily though. Also, check out these Greek yogurt ice cream bars that are only 100 calories and taste like ice cream. They’re called yasso.
