Wall Decor For Playroom

I have been working on Beckham’s playroom since we moved the office out!  That was around 7 months and he’s 11 months now.  Having the playroom was the best decision ever!  This will serve as the kids’ playroom/study for many years (as long as we’re in this house), so I wanted this room to be awesome.  I’m sure it will be a ongoing project as he gets older and his needs change.

I needed a cheap wall decor.  I LOVE doing puzzles, but hate taking them apart.  But I don’t necessarily like what most puzzles look like on my wall with my house decor.  I saw this as the perfect opportunity to do a puzzle and not destroy it.

I gave my husband this date book for our 5 year anniversary.  The first date (August) was pizza and a puzzle.  So I bought these 4 puzzles (came in one box) for us to do.  They glow in the dark too!

After we assembled them, I found these 4 frames at Hobby Lobby 50% off, which made them $7.50 each.  They were black, so I spray painted them white.  I just used the paper in them for the white border around the puzzle since they were slightly smaller than the frames.

 Total cost of project:
$30 – Frames (4)
$5 – Spray paint
$5 – Modge Podge
$40 TOTAL (well $50 if you include puzzles, which were from Target)

Close Up
His room is almost done!  I don’t really like them that high, but little man will destroy anything within level!  He’s already reaching for that new AllStar sign….life of a boy!

I love using puzzles as fun decor for the littles! Plus they feel proud because they had a hand in making it. :0)
