My Master Bedroom

master bedroom

I’m linking up with Andrea today in her series “Come On In.”  Today is Master Bedroom.  I am a clean freak, organizing fool, and decorating obsessed girl!  So things are always changing in my house.  Kids bring a whole new level with trying to stay clean and organized, so my house always seems unfinished.  There are two rooms in my house that I always love though…my laundry room and our master bedroom.

I have been wanting to make a few changes to our bedroom for a while.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE white fluffy bedding!  It’s so clean and calming.  So I wanted to change our bedding (the before was from a long time ago).  I also wanted to take down some things on the wall and replace them with different décor.  And the biggest thing was taking out my husband’s recliner (I hated that thing) and replace it with a bench under the mirror.  So, I did just that.

I have some before pictures so you can see the comparison with the changes I made.  I still have to add a picture I ordered of Ryan and I when we were engaged…I love it because it reminds me of our “young love.”  Marriage is tough and it’s always good to remember why you fell in love!  I also have a poem Ryan wrote me when we were dating and I’d like to type that out and frame it and put by my bedside.

Here is where the picture will go…

Here are some more shots of the room…

The new bench is my favorite.  It’s also from Target.  It really opens up our room and still gives us a place to put our clothes sit down.  That hamper in the corner is an eye sore, but it’s where the Mr. puts his shirts that need to be dry cleaned and our closet is packed so there’s really no other place for it.

The boys were helping!  Beckham thought I was taking pictures of him the entire time 🙂

And a little note about that corner…all of Ryan’s stuff…I HATE clutter, but my husband does not mind it, so I told him if he’s going to keep crap in our room to stuff it in his corner.  Does it bother me?  Heck yes, but it’s not a battle worth fighting all the time.  Marriage folks.

Hope you enjoyed a peak into our bedroom, one of my favorite rooms in the house.  My home décor taste has completely changed since I married when we got this furniture (love all white/grays/blacks now), but I still feel so at home and calm in our room.

Love your room! And I absolutely love the look of all white bedding! Just purchased a new all white comforter from Target last week 🙂 And now I need to check out that bench. What a great idea for sitting space without taking up a lot of room.

Looks really pretty. I love your new picture…that's going to look great there. Instead of getting a new chair, why not move your bench and lamp under your new picture. Take the mirror that's over the bench and turned it vertically so it functions more like a full length mirror or dressing type mirror. In lieu of a hamper, why not get a gorgeous basket for him to put his shirts in. That way it's still functional but pretty. Overall, a really nice bedroom. I like all of your wedding photos in there.
