Ask Me Monday: 35 Things About Me

Before I get into the post, you might notice the graphic above looks a little different than the previous “Ask Me Mondays.”  I couldn’t stand having my face on a thumbnail picture like that for a blog series.  Just felt weird.  So that’s that. 🙂

On my blog survey, a reader suggested posting several “favorites” as a fun post idea.  I always enjoy reading personal posts like these from other bloggers, so I thought I’d share some random facts you might not know.  I’ve done something similar to this when I turned 28 and 29 years old.  These are all random, but I hope you enjoy.

1. If I need to cheer up quickly, I clean a space or paint my nails
2. My love language is words of affirmation.
3. I can’t gargle mouth wash without gagging.
4. I like to clean my kitchen before I cook.
5. I clean my kitchen every night before bed and make my bed every morning.
6. My most ideal physique is athletic/lean muscle.
7. I get stressed very easily.
8. I struggle with yelling at my kids. I feel like I’ve lost it if I result to yelling.
9. My favorite nail polish color is red. I love a light teal in the summer and black in the winter.
10. I get nervous very easily.
11. My dream house involves an acre or two of land and no more than 3,000 square feet (I don’t want to clean a house that big, plus that just seems excessive for us).
12. If I see a picture of a donut (or hear the word), I will crave donuts until I eat one.
13. I will always eat pizza. It’s my absolute favorite food.
14. My favorite book in the Bible is Proverbs.
15. I much rather go to a social gathering with a handful of people than a huge party/get together. Which brings me to my next thing…
16. I like to get very personal with friends, not surface-y. I’m a “4 quarters” kind of friend vs. a “100 pennies.”
17. I’m conservative and like everyone to follow the rules. I’m also extremely non-confrontational.
18. I prefer paper planners over anything digital.
19. I hope to play soccer again soon. Time/schedules just don’t allow right now.
20. I’m becoming much more minimal. I’ll never be a minimalist, but less is definitely more in my opinion.
21. My favorite way to do a play date is with one or two other moms, coffee in hand, chit-chatting on couch, while the kids play.
22. Ryan proposed to me with a scavenger hunt in a limo (I rode with my best friend)…each spot revealed a clue to the next (all our firsts) and ended at our current house that he had bought for us (he was waiting inside)!
23. I grew up in a Christian home. My parents are still happily married and a great example for us.
24. I went to a Christian school my entire life (K-12^th grade).
25. If there is a scary part in a movie, I cover my eyes with my hands and peak through a little sliver between my fingers.
26. I’m a little shy and an introvert.
27. I hate kiosks in the mall and will try to avoid them at all costs. I act like I’m in a hurry and whiz by.
28. I love when people have flavored creamer for my coffee at their house.
29. I can only fall asleep at night if it’s pitch black.
30. I’m a thorough thinker…annoyingly so.
31. I love Twinkies, but don’t eat them.
32. I’m 5’5”
33. I have a birth mark on the side of my lower chin.
34. I might love the buttery popcorn at movie theaters, better than the actual movie.
35. I’ve never been stung by a bee.
