Birthday and 29 Facts About Me

My 29th birthday was last weekend, but I’m just now getting to share it.  It’s been a busy week with posts!  Our GENDER REVEAL was part of my birthday.  My family always gets together for birthdays over at my parents’ house.  This year we decided to do a breakfast theme since I’m obsessed with breakfast.  Plus, I wanted to find out the gender asap and Saturday morning was the earliest time we could find out as a family.
IMG_0904So we started the weekend over at my mom and dad’s with breakfast!  But first B bit into a cupcake! BOY!  Cousin Tenley wanted to help.

He’s happy it’s a boy…not really, he just was excited he got a cupcake and everyone was staring at him.

We even face timed with Cami, my younger sister.

Opening presents.  Look at my sweet grandmother and my super cute aunt standing to the side.

Thanks Logan and Kerry for the little onesie for Baby #2!

They loved opening presents too.

Grampa and Beckham!

Ugh, I just think he’s so cute!  Look at his shirt…that’s how we “told” our parents by the way.  It took each of our parents forever to notice his shirt.  Note to self: May want to make it a little easier to see the “Big Bro” if announcing it this way.
Ryan had to leave afterwards for a college game, so Beckham and I stayed at the house and hung out, and he napped.  My parents kept Beckham overnight so Ryan and I could enjoy a kid-free date!
Our date started off with this…

Dinner at Texas Roadhouse!  I love this place because they have THE best rolls!  Country music, peanut shells all over the floor, loud atmosphere, and good food…a true Texas restaurant.
Then we headed to one of my favorite stores to look for scarves and sunglasses!  Then home to watch an episode of Criminal Minds while we waited for our movie time to start at our local theater (it was a really late movie)!

IMG_4675

I wanted every single scarf!  I ended up with that leopard one.  I already  have a leopard one but it’s an infinity scarf…this had a little shimmer to it.

After our movie, we went to bed…check out that monitor.  Didn’t have to turn it on!  It kind of made me miss B, but I was so excited to sleep in!
IMG_4679

The next morning, I “dressed up” and we headed to another movie and lunch at Studio Movie Grill!  I love wearing jeans and a sweatshirt…it’s my favorite outfit!

IMG_4688

After the movie, we headed over to my parents to get Beckham, but when we got there he was sleeping, so they told us to leave and enjoy ourselves.  So we went to Starbucks and to find some sunglasses for myself (didn’t find them at Target).  I actually found some at Payless and when I got to checkout they were 50% off!  Score!  $5.99.  I only buy cheap sunglasses because I always lose them…always!  As a matter of fact, my last pair only lasted 2 weeks.

Ryan thinks Starbucks is the biggest waste of money and will not order from there!  It’s my life long goal in our marriage to get him to be a Starbucks lover so we can go enjoy coffee when we’re old and retired!  This is his look when I tell him that every time.

Afterwards we, and the rest of my family, headed over to my parents’ house and grilled burgers for dinner!  It was gorgeous outside.

It was the perfect weekend, exactly how I wanted to spend it!  Huge thank you to my parents for watching B this weekend and throwing a birthday/gender reveal for me!  God has blessed me for 29 years, starting with giving me my parents at birth, to giving me this second baby that sits peacefully in my belly!  My last year in my 20’s!  Now on to learn 29 random facts about myself.  I did this last year for my 28th birthday!
29 FACTS ABOUT OLIVIA:
You can read HERE the 28 facts from last year.

1. Nail polish is the best accessory.  Read HERE about how to DIY and read HERE about how I keep it organized.

2. It takes me a long time to swallow one pill…like 5-10 seconds, if not longer.  I’m like a little kid and take these as my prenatals…

3. My Love language is quality time and words of affirmation.  You can take a test HERE to find out yours.

4. I won a 2nd grade art contest.  Check it out.

5. I’m extremely non-confrontational.

6. I have the keenest sense of smell, particularly to animals (reason I can’t have a dog).

7. I used to be a gymnast…like competed on Team (I remember having to choose between soccer and gymnastics to focus on when it started getting intense).  You would NEVER know by my yoga abilities now.  This was the closest picture I could find of my doing something gymnast-y!

8. I do not like hairy guys (I married the perfect person).  Us on our honeymoon!

9. I’ve never been pulled over or got a ticket.  I think I might get hives when it happens.

10. I don’t like sweating, even when I’m working out.  Luckily, I’m not a huge sweater!

11. I’m a clean freak – people say you will let it go when you have a baby…if you’re a true Type-A, clean freak, you won’t…it will just stress you out more because you can’t clean it as well or often.  On a similar note, I have to clean the kitchen before I cook dinner.

IMG_4138IMG_4139

12. My natural hair color is brown…really dark brown.
IMG_4869

13. Need lots of room to sleep.  I could never co-sleep due to this reason.  Beckham has slept a couple times with us and I hated it!  Couldn’t even close my eyes.

14. I was a huge tom-boy growing up.  I did NOT like anything girly!  I would race the boys at recess and play soccer outside for fun!  I started getting girly in high school.  Haha…look at me below doing a 3 legged race with my dad.  I did not care that he was holding my little sister.  All I cared about was that little boy and his dad who were clearly cheating and ahead of us (competitive much?).

15. I ran track in high school – sprints (100 and 200). Ran the 200 in 26 seconds! I also ran cross country and got 2nd at State, although I have to preface it with the fact that it was for private school, and I would have been slaughtered at a public school cc meet.

16. I do not like wearing jewelry with exception to earrings. I can’t stand bracelets/watches. Much rather wear a scarf than a necklace.

17. I used to want to be a model in high school and college.  My mom used to model.  And let’s just talk about how good she looks after giving birth to her 3rd kid in the picture on the left (that’s me with her feeding my newborn brother).   My mom with my older sis on the right.

And a few more of myself…clearly I was not modest.  I would never pose like this again, even if I had this figure.  In the top middle picture, I was strapping on my shoes and looked up, as well as stretching in the bottom right picture, and both came out looking model-y.

18. I’m not a big bouquet of flowers person, but enjoy a few on rare (not special event) occasions.  I prefer a Starbucks gift card and an unloaded dishwasher!

19. I love Michael Buble. He’s my go-to on Pandora.  When I was an intern, my old boss introduced him to me several years ago and I’ve been in love ever since.

20. I put on make-up like a middle school student – 10 minutes max, powder only on my face, with liner, shadow, and mascara. Simply, because I have no clue. I’m learning…

21. I’m a night owl, but really trying to become a morning person (I think I’ll wait till I’m done having kids).  I found this on the internet and laughed so hard…so true.

22. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day.  Sometimes I eat it for every meal.  This is one of my favorite breakfasts meals at home.  Click on the picture or HERE for the recipe (if you want to call it that).  My go-to breakfast is an english muffin with peanut butter.

23. Ryan has been the only guy to take my breath away when we first kissed…literally I couldn’t breathe.  Here’s us when we were dating.  My best friend…best advice I took about marriage – “marry your best friend”
IMG_4864IMG_4865IMG_4866IMG_4868

And in college…he came to Hawaii to visit a friend and watch me play.  We played University of Hawaii.  Loved that they were in our conference…played there 3 times in college.  I was a freshman in this photo.  We won 4-3..just had to throw that in there.

24. I always give funny cards for birthdays and special occasions.

25. Ryan and I are complete opposites when it comes to organizing. Drives me nuts.  This is exactly why I like to organize.

26. I can wiggle my ears.

27. I never had my own room until my sophomore year in college.

28. I’ve had the same car since I was 19.  Not sure when I’ll get a new car, but we just started talking about saving up for one…an SUV.  Any recommendations?

29. I played soccer so much when I was little that I incorporated it into my other sports – For example, I headed the ball over the net during a volleyball match in middle school (it was so embarrassing).  Also, my basketball coach would always get mad at me because I would try to stay on sides during the games.

Now you might know me a little better!  I love the fact that my kids can know a little more about their mama later in life.  Have a great Wednesday!

Ok loved this post!!! What an awesome birthday 🙂 Any birthday involving Target and Texas Roadhouse is great! I need new sunglasses too, I will look at payless!! I do NOT like hair on guys either and my hubby is hairrfee likes yours haha, yay! I work for a used car dealer and I have to say the coolest SUV I have driven is the Nissan Rogue. Very sporty, I think it had a sunroof and its big but not too big, plus Nissans are pretty good cars.
