This weekend was such a whirlwind. So fun, but I’m actually relieved it’s over and I can breathe a bit.
On Friday, Ryan turned the big 4-0! The boys and I went up to his school during his lunch break to visit him and bring him some little gifts. They boys love going up to the “daddy’s school” (aka high school) to see him and run the halls.
Afterwards, we went home and I cleaned our house, while the boys watched a movie. Then we left about 5:00 to head out to the Rangers game while the kids stayed home with Gramma!
We had all you can eat homerun porch tickets. The night was absolutely perfect. Perfect weather, unlimited food and drinks, perfect view, and great friends! The coolest part was the nail-biter win in the bottom of the 9th…a 3 run home run that hit the foul pole and bounced inward (the foul pole was right next to where we were sitting). And fireworks to end the night. Friday nights at a ball field are pretty perfect!
I snapped this picture right before we left and I’m pretty sure my belly grew double after this weekend. Only 19 weeks here!
It was so nice to have a night out with Ryan. On Saturday, I didn’t even stop to breathe. First up was brunch with my mom and older sister (my little sister live in Louisiana and my sister in law was out of town). I loved the conversation, fancy coffee, and no kids. We ate a place called Main Street Bistro in Plano…if you’re local, it was a cool place to go. We did this for Mother’s Day.
Then I headed straight to the store to pick up a gift for a birthday party that I was going to take Maddox to later that afternoon. Then I shot over to Beckham’s baseball game where Ryan and the boys were. I caught his last at-bat and then swooped up Maddox to go to his buddy’s birthday. We stayed there a couple of hours and then shot home to get ready for another birthday dinner for Ryan. Little man fell asleep on the way home…he stayed asleep at the house when I took him out of here and in the car ride from our house to my parents.
We dropped the kids off at my parents house with my niece and darted over to Fogo De Chao, a Brazilian steakhouse. I snapped this terrible picture at the end when we were enjoying our coffees and desserts. We stayed there 4 hours! Exactly how my parents like to dine…enjoying the “dining experience.” I had no complaints as we were kid-free with amazing food!
My parents and I went in on a gift together and got Ryan a round of golf (for 2) at the Dallas Cowboys golf course! It’s supposed to be an all day affair and quite the experience. I can’t wait for him to enjoy that gift! After dinner, we went back to my parents house and grabbed the kids who were already bathed and in pj’s…thank you Ashton!
We got home around 11pm and put the kids to bed! Needless to say, Sunday came way too early! Ryan let me sleep in that morning till 9:30 when the kids came in with homemade cards and a few very nice gifts! Some great spa day gifts. I felt very loved.
On the way to church, we stopped by Starbucks for a special latte and muffin for myself. After a great morning at church, we headed straight to my in laws to have lunch there and celebrate Mother’s Day!
The boys are playing Bingo with Gramma in the picture above. They really love this game with her!
We went home around 4:00 and I plopped myself down on the couch. Maddox had fallen asleep in the car and stayed asleep on the couch until almost 6:00! He was not in a good mood when he woke up. We played outside a bit and then grabbed some dinner out before calling it a night at 9pm. Ryan took care of baths and bed, which was nice. Ryan actually does that whenever I need to work at night…he’s super involved when he’s home.
It was a great weekend, but man am I ready for some routine, a good cleaning, and work outs. I indulged big time and feel gigantic. This week Beckham has Pre-K graduation! I just can’t believe it. The year is coming to an end and we’re entering my least favorite season in Texas…summer! This is definitely when I wish we had a pool in our backyard!
I’m off to get some sleep!
