Since I’m a little behind in posting this, I am going to include our pictures from Spring Break as well.
Day 71: While B was at “school” I ventured over to my 2 favorite places…Starbucks and The Container Store. I literally could spend every penny I make in this store. I was in Heaven!
Day 72: I’ve decided to have a special date with my little man once a month, which includes a car wash and breakfast or lunch out. He was a little nervous so we held hands during the wash.
Day 73: We went to the mall so I could buy a book and we visited the play area at the bookstore. He’s obsessed with Thomas right now. We don’t really watch that show, so I’m not sure where this all started. Oh and this was right before he yelled at another little boy that this was “his choo choo.”
Day 74: Saturday was one of my best friend’s daughter’s birthday! This is definitely where we need to have B’s next party. Constant jumping, sliding, running around, with cupcakes and ice cream. Pretty sure this is what little kids, especially boys, believe Heaven will be like.
Day 75: Banana Bread Coffee Cake…the prefect afternoon pick-me-up (recipe HERE)
Day 76: The next day (Monday) officially started our Spring Break. Everyone in the area was off the week prior, but Ryan’s district had last week off. Our first stop was Costco!
Day 77: B went to school this day, so Ryan and I spent the entire time hanging out. First was breakfast, then a movie, then coffee on a bench in our downtown. The weather was so pretty! It was a great day!
A few pictures from the week before SPRING BREAK:
On Wednesday, I took B to get his hair cut.
Then we went to the mall! Buddies & playing with the train!
This was the book I got…highly recommend. I’m already finished and I’m not really a reader.
That same evening, we went to Palio’s Pizza for dinner! Here’s B trying to put his shoes on!
Ryan taught him how to make a “worm” with his straw wrapper and water. He’s a crazy kid at restaurants! All he wants to do is MOVE!
I just love these pictures…he likes to watch Ryan draw and I’m just obsessed when he sits with his hand under his chin!
More birthday fun…he’s a little dare devil! And definitely a messy eat (see pic below). This party wore him out!
SPRING BREAK 2014:
I think this is only the second Spring Break we haven’t gone anywhere on vacation. It was nice though and we accomplished a lot around the house as well as relaxed and had fun!
This is Beckham after church on Sunday. Ryan dressed him and I thought he was pretty darn cute! This is what he does now for pictures.
Monday we went to Costco and did some things around the house when Beckham started really complaining and whining around nap time. He kept pointing to his ear. So we headed to Dr. office, but then he fell asleep. Doesn’t he look pitiful? Since he fell asleep we thought maybe he just really needed a nap. Ryan decided to drop me off at the grocery store while he slept. He woke up as I was checking out and seemed to be in more pain. Since Dr. was closed, we headed to Acute Care. As soon as we got inside, he was totally opposite and completely fine. He never had a fever, so I wasn’t really sure what it was. As we were filling out paperwork, we decided to wait it out and see how he was the rest of the night. We went to the park and all…he seemed great! Next part of story happens on Tuesday…
Then on Tuesday, like I mentioned above, we dropped B off at school, headed to breakfast (don’t those pancakes look good…best in McKinney), a movie, and then coffee outside.
When we picked him up, the teachers pointed out he had drainage in his ear. This is where I earn my “Terrible Mom” award. He still was fine though. We called Dr. and set up appt. to get it checked out. Before we went to the Dr. office we headed back to downtown McKinney (right by his school) and visited the candy/popcorn shop! This has been one of our favorite shops since we moved to McKinney! I think it’s safe to say, it’s Beckham’s too.
Come to find out, little man had a double ear infection and his left ear had a busted (hence the drainage). This is his first ear infection. Pretty good for almost 2.5 years old! Apparently he’s one that doesn’t get a fever with an ear infection. God was pretty awesome though with this whole thing, financially at least. If we had gone to Acute Care we would have paid $120-200 for the visit vs. the $68 for self pay at our pediatrician’s. The meds were going to cost us $183 total (drops and oral med), but I was able to talk to a nurse friend (who I was meeting up with for girls night this same night) who got us the drops ($135) for $40! B was fine Monday night, so I know he wasn’t suffering past the initial occurrence, but Ryan and I were seeing how it actually all worked out and saved us $95! God is good. But I will definitely make sure to take him in right when he starts pointing to his ear next time. Got him all fixed up and infection free!
Came home and made dinner really fast for us and one of my best friends who had a baby! Chicken Enchilada Casserole. I made half for us and half for her family! I loved it because I don’t really like leftovers so it was a great recipe to make two! Could freeze the other one if needed. Recipe HERE.
Then my MOPS small group had girls night in downtown McKinney at Emporium Pies. I was on the phone with the pharmacy before they closed!
Wednesday I went shopping at The Container Store and Motherhood Maternity. I had $100 gift card to MM and spent every bit of it and more! And below is Beckham just hanging out at home!
Thursday, B was at school again, but we had an appt. with Ryan’s uncle, a CPA, to talk about our taxes. I’m glad we did it and got it over with…I was dreading it with my new business expenses, hoping I did everything right. Ryan does our taxes, but we heeded advice from the professional! Listening to Ryan talk taxes reminded me how smart he is! People, he really is smart…valedictorian in high school, magna cum laude in college, Algebra teacher, better financial planner than most out there (I tell him he should do this for a living if he ever changes jobs), an amazing writer, and extremely knowledgeable of Scripture. I hope Beckham inherits his brains!
Afterwards, we headed to Jason’s Deli for lunch and ice cream 🙂
And then picked Beckham up from school.
Friday we played in the back a little while Ryan did the yard. We were both still in our pj’s. It was great. I read a little while he played. *Rare pic of me without my nails painted* Then I took him to the library to check out a few books. He’s such a big boy and wanted to carry them out himself…all Thomas the Train books.
Then we headed to Ryan’s parents for dinner! I’m so glad both our parents are close, still married, and we both enjoy each other’s parents! Beckham loves to see the dog when we visit. 99% sure we’ll never own a dog, so it’s fun when we get to visit and let him play! He really adores the dog! B took this first pic…not bad.
On Saturday, Ryan needed to run up to school to make a video for a student (life of a teacher)…there is the best donut shop next to his school, so we all went there and then went to his school to hang a bit.
Saturday night we met my parents and brother at Cristina’s. Beckham LOVES beans and rice! Too bad my food can’t get past my throat because he makes my blood pressure rise when we’re out!
Then, ya know, just doing some push-ups before bed. Ryan started doing some push-ups (his new nightly routine) and Bekcham wanted to try! If he’s anything like Ryan, he’ll be doing legitimate push-ups before he’s 4! Bunny is doing them too…because bunny does EVERYTHING with Beckham.
Sunday morning on our way to church. I love those little feet!
Then we celebrated my grandmother’s 88th birthday! She used to live in Abilene (3 hours away), but now lives about 30 minutes away with my aunt! I’m so glad she’s close and we can see her often! This chick is as sharp as a tack!
I also took 3 cat naps yesterday! People, my sleep is truly funky right now! I wasn’t even this tired when I first had Beckham and he was up all night. Pregnant + Toddler + Business + Homemaker = Overly tired! It’s okay though…this phase will pass…some day! It was a fun week and I already miss Ryan! Can’t wait for the summer!
