Friday Favorites

I always feel weird saying “Happy Friday” in these posts during basketball season because Friday (and Saturday) are no different for me than any other day. Ryan gone, taking care of kids. But nonetheless, it’s Friday so here are a bunch of random Friday favorites for you!

{Maddox’s Milk Routine}

Every morning this little 2.5 year old goes and gets a cup, a lid, a spoon, and chocolate so that he can make his chocolate milk. He literally lays it out in this manner and I get the milk. Subsequent children always grow up faster 🙁

{Best Dry Shampoo}

So I’ve tried a ton of dry shampoos and this one always seems to work best. I’m not sure if I’d recommend for brunettes but regardless it still works great on my brown roots. It’s so cheap which is great too.

{Nail Polish}

IMG_5157

Not the best picture, but this Essie nail polish is great. I had to apply 3 coats, but I really liked the color. It’s called Marshmallow.

I couldn’t capture the awesome-ness of this redish nail polish by OPI, but it’s my new favorite. It’s called Dutch Tulips. Don’t mind the stray marks…I didn’t clean it up with polish remover afterwards. But it’s a great color…red with a little pink hint to it.

{Beckham’s Art Show}

IMG_5172

Beckham’s school got to show off some art they had been working on. He named his project “Rocket Ship.” He also had pajama day at school, hence the attire. Love seeing his little creative mind at work.

{Maddox’s Art Show}

Maddox didn’t want his picture taken with his artwork, but I snapped a picture of his display. I cracked up when I saw the title of his art. I can just see the teachers asking him what his art was as they point to it and he answered literally…”mine”

{Free Activities}

open gym

A local gymnastics place had open gym for 2-5 year olds last week and we took full advantage. It took Maddox almost 30 minutes to warm up and actually touch equipment but once he did, he was on a roll. Beckham, on the other hand, dominated the gym. I love free activities like these! We went to the park afterwards with the friends we went to the gym with and ate lunch there, so we had a full day of play!

Speaking of free (or almost free) activities, I might take the boys this weekend to see Trolls again at the dollar theater. Do any of you still have a dollar theater around? They loved the movie so much and we could go see it again for $3.00 total…plus popcorn of course.

{Chickfila’s Superfood}

This is the broccoli kale salad that replaced coleslaw at Chickfila. I ordered it for the first time this week after trying a bite of my friend’s and I LOVE it! I am NOT a veggie person and I really liked it.

{Learning New Things & Cute Printables}

ETSY Be Pineapple in frame

Nothing has challenged me more than starting my own business through Etsy and it being a graphic design business having NO graphic design background to begin with. I don’t like bragging, but I also don’t give myself enough credit with what I’ve taught myself over the years. Yesterday, I learned yet another new little thing…how to display signs using mockups (this is neat because it’s always cool to display printables as real life and more appealing). My printable is inserted into this mockup I purchased. None of this probably applies to anyone (nor does anyone care), but it’s a picture that reminds me of my hard work and how things have grown organically. I truly love learning things, so this is a favorite of the week.

{Fun Nights}

IMG_5186

Ryan is gone a lot this time of year and I try to make the nights a little more fun (for myself and they boys). This particular night I needed them in one place (we had guys over fixing a leak), so we had movie night with popcorn after bath time.

And speaking of a leak, what a week this has been. I think I mentioned it in my last post, but our pipes had a leak, causing a flood of water in our master bedroom. All week we’ve had people in and out testing, drilling, and fixing it. It’s all fixed now, hallelujah! We are planning to replace the carpet in there, so that will be really fun! I’m ready to get our bedroom back to this…

We have a random assortment of fun things planned for this weekend. I’ve been trying to post to Instagram stories more…little snippets throughout our day. If you’re interested, my IG is @oliviacsnyder. Hope you have a fun, relaxing weekend ahead of you.

    I didn’t realize that you had no design background! You deserve lots of credit for teaching yourself the skill, and building a business with it!!

      Thanks Amy. It was a risk, which is not like me, but I had good encouragement from a friend.

    Leaky pipes are no fun! Ahhh! Things like that stress me out the MOST. Last year our hot water heater, dryer, a/c, furnace, and dishwasher all went out. I would say, when appliances do not work, or there is a need for a home repair, I am a hot mess. I hope it gets fixed quickly. Also, I LOVE the nail polishes, art show, and yay for open gym! Have a great week!
