Playing catch up. To say this weekend is busy would be an understatement. Ryan’s birthday falls on Mother’s Day this year so finding gifts for him and my mom and mother-in-law, along with celebrating them all, makes for a busy weekend. I’ll post late about our weekend.
Friday’s (Day 10) topic was “most embarrassing moment.” I get embarrassed very easily, but two experiences come to mind that were pretty bad.
1. I went to a private school growing up and we used to wear jumpers to school. I would wear shorts underneath on P.E. days so I could take off my jumper and play in my shorts and shirt. Well, this particular P.E. day I guess I forgot. I start to take off my jumper and realize it’s a lot more “airy” underneath than usual. Yep, the boys even saw. It was really embarrassing. Luckily elementary aged kids have short term memory loss because it was forgotten quickly. Pair that with my maiden name “O’Rear” and it could have easily led to name calling.
2. I was in high school and I had just met this guy I liked. I knew he liked me too. My first period was “office aid” so I would wander around school picking up attendance and running errands. Well, I’m coming down the stairs and I see this guy (walking in late) about to come up the stairs towards me to go to his class. A couple of steps down the stairs, I TRIP over my own two feet. I was mortified. I’m pretty sure my face was the color of a tomato. We ended up dating, so I guess it wasn’t the end of the world as it seemed at the time.
Saturday’s (Day 11) topic is “sell yourself in 10 words.” Umm, I couldn’t sell you a brick of gold if I tried. So, to sell myself…this will be interesting. There’s gotta be 10 things you can say about yourself, right? Whether it “sells” is another question.
- Confident
- Argumentative
- Compassionate
- Athletic
- Hard-Working (is that 2?)
- Competitive
- Christian
- Mother
- Perfectionist
- Sinner (saved by grace)
Can you relate to any of those?
