Well the word for this last week is SWOLLEN! My feet and ankles are swollen all the time. At the end of the day is the worst, but they stay swollen from when I wake up to when I go to bed. I know they say to put your feet up, but I can’t do that except for when I get home, which is usually around 7 since I have a fabulous job! And then of course I’m busy with other things. I gained another 6 pounds in 2 weeks! Yikes! I’ve gained a total of 37 pounds so far, so it looks like I will be close to 50 pounds total. Never did I think I would even get close to that! At this point, I just look forward to losing it AFTERwards. My doc said I am retaining a lot of fluid, therefore gaining a lot of weight. Lucky me! In addition to being swollen, I’m tired, uncomfortable, and move much slower. I have so much respect for pregnant teachers that work out after work up until their baby comes. Granted I don’t know any people that have done that, but more power to them if they did.
We had our second 3D sonogram last Saturday since his feet were in his face the first time we went. Well, this time his feet AND hands were directly in front of his face, not even giving us a peek at his nose or lips or anything. So, we have to wait till he is head down if we want to come back. I think I’ll just accept the fact that he is stubborn and won’t show his face till he’s born! So I’ll wait till my next sonogram in 3 weeks and see if he’s positioned differently, but then it still may be hard to see him since he’ll be so squished. I was very disappointed, but it is what it is.
I am getting so excited. When I look at my school calendar, I’m in awe that it’s so soon! I have 4 weeks left of school before Thanksgiving break, which is when I will start maternity leave. I’m nervous to leave all my duties to someone else, but I know I won’t care once I’m off. Come March, I might, but I have to let go of control and trust that it will be fine. My team is awesome though and they are so supportive!
My fabulous mother-in-law made Baby Snydes’ bedding and a blanket. She finished it last weekend, so I will be putting it up tomorrow! My father-in-law painted a baby rocking chair that was his own when he was a baby. So it will be passed down 3 generations. I love that he has something like that! It looks great in the room! I have to do things on the weekends for the baby since I’m so exhausted during the week, and I haven’t had more than 1 hour to do anything on the weekends. So, I’m taking another day to get a ton of things done tomorrow. So excited to get some things done.
