I can’t believe I’m almost halfway through! This week went by fast because we were in San Antonio with my family. Not too many changes this week. I definitely feel Baby Snydes moving around more! I still have to be pretty still, but can feel the baby more frequently! Best feeling ever…it’s like a doctor’s visit at home (I know something is in there). My stomach is still growing, but I definitely look overweight if you don’t know me. Can’t wait for it to actually look pregnant! I’ve had a tough time with the weight gain. All of my body parts (including my stomach) look like they did when I was heavier, so it’s very hard right now. I just feel chubby, not really pregnant. I just want to get over this hump and look pregnant. Considering I haven’t really had a hard time with anything these last few months, I guess it’s ok I’m having a hard time with one thing. I have also witnessed my fluctuating hormones kick in lately! Yikes. Luckily I married a really patient man! Definitely enjoying ALL of this pregnancy though…I am in awe everyday that there is another human being living inside me…a specially made little nugget that God designed for His glory! Here’s me at 19 weeks, almost half way through. I feel like I look pretty small, but I guess everyone shows differently. Not too worried unless doc says anything. I’ve heard from a couple people that they didn’t show till 20-23 weeks, so that makes me feel better.
BOY OR GIRL???
Next week we have our 20 week doctor’s appointment and get to find out if it’s a boy or a girl! When I first got pregnant I was 90% sure it was a boy (just a hunch), but now I’m really not sure. We both want a boy AND a girl so I guess it really doesn’t matter this first go around. Let’s just say if they tell us it’s a girl, I will be really shocked! When I talk about the baby I want to say “she/her” but I picture a boy. When I look at examples of nurseries, I look at boy ones…who knows. If we had it exactly how we would like, we’d have our boy first then girl, but of course we know that God knows what we need better than we do. We have names picked out for both, but I LOVE the girl names we have, so I kind of want a girl! I just can’t wait to find out what it is, whether it’s a girl or boy! We are going to tell our family and close friends with a “Cupcake Surprise” party the night we find out – you get 20 or so cupcakes and have them filled with either blue icing or pink icing. Everyone bites into the cupcake at once. Once they bite into the cupcake they will all know. We will know before we do this. Ryan and I want to share the moment between just us two when we first find out, then reveal it with the cupcakes! Since we will already know, Ryan had a good idea to fill all the cupcakes with white icing, except for one. That one will be blue or pink depending on the gender and everyone will grab a cupcake and bite into it! This way it will be like a surprise to us too to see who has the “cupcake.” Hopefully we will get some good photos of it! I feel like it makes it all real when you know the gender! I don’t know how people did it back in the day when you couldn’t find out until you delivered! Oh the advancements. Soon one day, you will find out the gender as soon as you pee on a stick to see that you’re pregnant! Haha! So…
WHAT’S YOUR GUESS? BOY or GIRL?
