Week 18 – Favorite Presents and Salads

I’m now 4 1/2 months along!  There is really NO changes this week.  My skin is a little better 🙂  Oh and I forgot to mention that my hair is much dryer and frizzier, but I don’t know if that is hormones or not.  I also don’t feel a whole lot bigger.  The baby is now 5 1/2 inches long from it’s head to rump (like a sweet potato).  I think it’s crazy that it’s almost half a foot and my belly is still not huge…I don’t understand where it goes?  I wish I could see through my body and see where it is in relation to all my other organs and such.  God is so cool.  I haven’t really felt the baby like I did the week before…boo!  Of course worry comes over me, but I’m trusting God and know that worry can’t solve any problems so I’ll just wait till I go back to doctor to see Baby Snydes!  I wish I had an appt. every 2 weeks.  Can’t stand waiting a month to hear or see our baby!  Here’s baby’s size and me:

Up All Night – There is this new TV series called Up All Night coming in the fall that Ryan and I are excited to see.  It’s about 2 new parents raising their baby and it looks hilarious!  I’m sure we can have a few laughs before we start saying the same things.  Christina Applegate is the mom.  Looks funny.

Since there is not much to update on, I thought I’d show some of our favorite presents we’ve received from our wonderful friends and family!

This is the Willow Tree Angel from my Aunt Susan!
A handmade book of nursery rhymes from Ryan’s Aunt Sue!
These are some bibs from my mother-in-law Glenna!  My favorite is the one on top – “Don’t make me call Grandma!” especially since Glenna gave us these!
Um…this is so incredibly cute!  This is a onesie from my brother-in-law Jordan!  In honor of the recent Mavs championship!  He went to a lot of work to find this too, so thank you!!!  Can’t wait to put them in this when we go to a Mavs game…or maybe just watch one at home..hahaha!  It’s a 12 months size so it will be perfect for the start of a season…or next year’s play offs if he/she is a chunk like his/her parents (I was a mammoth and Ryan was chunky so we could possibly have a gigantic baby).
This is one of my other favorites!  This was actually the first gift we got.  It’s from our friends Tiffany and Michael.  Tiff used to teach at Ryan’s school and Michael still teaches there with Ryan.  If you don’t know my husband, he refs basketball A LOT!  He recently broke into college and is working his way up the ladder!  And this is prefect because I’m sure our baby will be calling most of the shots! 🙂
So you might be wondering why the word “salads” is in the title.  Well, I have gained a little too much weight as of late.  During summer, I usually eat out a lot more and it caught up to me this week.  I know it’s not baby weight cause my tummy is not 2 pounds bigger and other parts are growing a little too much 🙂  I’m not worried though.  I started off this pregnancy at a great weight and really healthy!  I did a 24 day challenge with Advocare (I highly recommend for those trying to lose weight and get healthy) 3 months before I got pregnant so I would be in tip top shape when I did get pregnant.  I maintained my healthy weight and eating for a really long time, and for the most part, still continue to make healthy choices.  Well one of my favorite things to do is eat out and I’m not very strong when I’m there either.  I also use to take some supplements before my workouts that REALLY helped keep my muscle and burn fat, but when I got pregnant, I stopped using them.  They are safe to take and my doc even said so, but being my first pregnancy, I personally did not feel comfortable taking anything!  I might on my next pregnancy and can’t wait to take them afterwards.  I’ve gained 4 pounds since last doc’s visit 2 weeks ago and that is how much I should gain in the 4 weeks between visits..oops. ðŸ™‚  I can lose weight very easily, so like I said, I’m not worried.  I will just be eating a little more salads and be in the gym more consistently.  Plus I need to be eating healthier for the baby’s sake too!  I want a smart, healthy little cookie, so I better be feeding them good nutrients!  I have a great book I just started reading about nutrition and exercise during pregnancy!  I want to provide the best home for our little one!
We are going to San Antonio for the 4th of July holiday with my parents and my brother and sister-in-law.  It will be really fun, but really hot!  If you have any ideas on things to do there, please let me know.  We’ve been before, but loved it so we’re going back.  After that, we’ll be a week away from finding out the gender.  My family and I are having a little get together to “reveal” the sex (more on that later).  I can’t wait to find out cause I’m tired of calling him/her an “it.”
