Maddox Cade–8 Months

Dear Maddox,
This was a big month for you! You started crawling and are everywhere now. You come up to my legs for me to pick you up, jabber more, and do this funny flexing thing when you’re playing around with us! Also your eyes are very similar to Beckham’s at this age (a little bluer), but they’re turning brown (maybe hazel). And you have tons more hair. You’re the best snuggler. You like for me to hum the “Go to sleep” lullaby when I’m rocking you. You do well with others, although you sometimes get upset when passed off to a stranger (or someone you don’t see regularly) too quickly. Lastly, I think you have an absolute adorable smile! Your eyes get squinty and your mouth opens wide…and you have little dimples. You really adore your brother and are very easy going with him (thankfully, because he takes every single toy away from you…don’t worry Bub, I’m working on him).

Measurements: You weigh 21 pounds and you need 9-12 month onesies bad .

My favorite thing: You do this thing similar to flexing and holding your breath when you try to make me laugh. It’s so funny and I love it because it’s evident you really remember what makes us laugh.

Daily Activities: Same as last month except you’re staying awake a bit longer in the mornings before your first nap. You love playing in the playroom with Beckham and my hip is thankful that it doesn’t have a baby on it 24/7!

Eating: Again, same as last month. Eat four times a day (bottles of breast milk) and have pureed veggies/fruits between each bottle. You’re eating more (about 4 oz of food) at each feeding. You just started being able to eat Puffs without choking all the time. Your gag reflex is still really sensitive. In addition to all that, you thoroughly enjoy anything that is on the ground and try eating it.

Sleeping: You sleep about 11-12 hours at night with two naps (2 hours each). You don’t fight your naps or bed time really, but have been waking up once after we put you down to be rocked back to sleep. Pretty great sleeper!

Special Events:
-Started crawling!
-Moved your mattress down in your crib (you started pulling up on your knees in the crib)!
-Your new baby cousin, Nolan, was born! So you guys are almost 8 months apart. I picture lots of fun with him in the future.
