Easy TRAIL MIX Recipe

trail mix
This really isn’t a recipe as much as it is some ideas of what you can put in your trail mix.  I love munching on food…and by “munch”, I mean eat a hamburger in between meals.  So, in order to munch on a more healthier alternative, I decided to make some trail mix.  I don’t like a lot of store bought kinds because they usually have 1-2 ingredients I don’t like…ever had that bag of trail mix with only those brown disgusting chips left in it? 🙂  And it’s almost always cheaper per serving!

Here’s what I put in my trail mix:

 -Goldfish
-Craisins
-Pretzels
-Chex Cereal
-M&M’s
-Peanuts (I prefer cashews, but had these leftover)
-Peanut Butter Baking Chips (not pictured)…I had a few leftover and I dumped them in.

How to Make:
I have no measurements for you…I’m not a big measurement person unless I’m baking.  It’s really just about what you like.  I literally grabbed a gallon baggie and started dumping a little bit of everything into the bag.  Then shake the bag to mix around.  If you see it needs more of something, just add more and mix again.

Then I added it to my empty glass jar that I’d been needing to fill.  Side Note: You’ll notice the spaghetti is in the short jar.  I always break my spaghetti before I put it in the water so it will fit in the pot (in case I’m using a smaller pot).  So I broke them in half and put them in the shorter jar.  Perfect.  The trail mix is so pretty sitting in the jar…at least it is to me.

It’s a perfect snack for little ones!  Of course he picked out all the M&M’s first, but did eat majority of everything.

You could add tons more things to your trail mix, depending on what you like.  I think I’ll try some pumpkin seeds next time.  Are there any items you like in your trail mix?
