My Friday Favorites is a little bit different today. I’m doing one of my favorite posts…a day in the life. And sharing two of my favorite apps on my phone. This DITL was from this past Wednesday.
I woke up around 7:45 and had to dry and straighten my hair (I went to bed with it wet). This little guy woke up shortly after and joined me in the bathroom with his fruit and cereal (big brother was still asleep).
After I finished (took me about 25 minutes), I made my bed. Beckham was awake at this point.
Then we headed into the kitchen to make a smoothie. B is a pretty good eater, but Maddox is not, so I try to get in some kind of veggie/protein within a smoothie. They love this smoothie.
I went in my office to do a few things while B watched a show and Maddox followed me in there. Those small signs on the sides are not framed yet 🙂
Then I folded a load of laundry and we all got dressed to run some errands.
It was about 10:30 at this point when we headed out the door. This was a dark photo but we were inside our garage.
Our first stop was getting Maddox a haircut. I plan on cutting the boys hair, but Maddox is way too young to cut right now. He screams when we do get it cut and he has to sit in my lap. There’s no way he’d sit still for as long as it would take me, so the salon it is for now. His little before and after.
Next, we went inside the Dollar Tree to exchange something and then headed to McDonalds (I know…terrible, but sometimes this happens) to let the boys eat and play a bit. I could only get a picture of Maddox as B is up and down eating/playing.
Afterwards, I indulged in a mid-afternoon iced coffee and got the boys each a cake pop. As if Starbucks wasn’t expensive enough…going through there with the kiddos is brutal. It was about 12:45 at this point. We also went by Walmart to return some frames on the way home. B’s smile cracks me up in the picture below. And that is tape he had plastered all over the place in a matter of 5 seconds.
I also got gas using my GasBuddy app. It shows you how much gas is near you. I love this app and use it often to know which pump to hit up that’s cheapest.
As soon as we got home, I put Maddox down for his nap and Beckham did his chores before he played on the iPad. We were going to the Texas Rangers game later this evening and taking friends, so I took out the car seats and cleaned the car. It will be 1 year in July that I’ve had this car and I am still so in love with it. After I cleaned my car, I gave our house a good cleaning also.
Then I took some photos for a blog post next week.
I sat down at my computer for a quick minute and completed a few orders before getting ready to leave for the game. I was also talking to my friend via the Voxer app. If you are a human, especially you moms, you NEED to download this app. It’s like a walkie talkie. It’s great because you can talk to the person instead of text, but do at your convenience (listen and respond). I can do laundry or check email or do whatever and listen to the Vox and then respond when I am able. I find texting so laborious now. This is especially great for those people you text often (or talk on the phone with often). You will love it if you get it (I use the free version).
Maddox was awake at this point (around 3:30) and I decided to start getting ready. Ryan was getting home at 4:30 and we planned on leaving around 5. So I needed to be ready by then to get things ready for the boys while we’d be gone. And then this happened…
They had been in and out of the bathroom where I was and I gave them a wipe to clean stuff with (this keeps them busy…they love wiping down things). Then B walks into the bathroom and asks me if he can use the powder. I was confused and knew I should check what was going on. I found baby powder sprinkled all over our bookshelf, bed, dresser, floor speakers in the living room, and some in the hallway. I couldn’t believe it. Of course now I’m busy vacuuming up powder everywhere. I swear.
Finally, I’m ready to go. Alone. In the car. And no one is pouring powder everywhere or asking me to make them food. I’m ready to have some fun! We headed to pick up my friend Erika and her hubby to see the Rangers game!
We made it to the field shortly before game time and took some pictures in front of our seats! How good are these seats?! Ryan got these tickets from a parent and they were definitely the best seats we’ve sat in at a Rangers game! It also gave us access to a luxury club area where we ate…buffet style.
The view! Nothing better than baseball at night with good weather and great company! This brings back memories of Ryan playing in the minor leagues. All 4 years we dated, he played ball and they’re some of the best memories.
It took us a while to get back home due to construction, so it was a late night, but we had fun just hanging out with adults 🙂 A much needed night for sure. We dropped them off and got home around 11:30pm. I took a shower, emailed an order that was due, and went to bed.
Hope you enjoyed a peek into a day in the life. I need to do one on a pre-school day and/or a weekend day, but these are what most days look like (minus the fun outing at the end of the day).
We are celebrating several April birthdays in my family this weekend and my little sister is coming in town tonight for the weekend! She lives in Louisiana so we only see her every once in a while. Have a great Friday.

Day in the life posts are always my favorite. And ugh with that baby powder everywhere. One time Olivia “helped ” me clean with a rag and some lotion. It took me forever to get that sweet pea smell gone. Lol. Have a great weekend
