Dear Maddox,
This was a good month for you. You are such a happy baby! You love to dance now by bobbing up and down. You have impeccable fine motor skills and are starting to stack Legos and place items inside containers. You’re pulling up on everything and cruising along. Walking shouldn’t be too far away. And you love Beckham’s train table.
Measurements: You weigh about 22 pounds and are wearing 12 month clothes. You are getting slender, which makes you look even taller than you are.
My favorite thing: You laugh when we play peek a boo. You also started “flexing” by clenching your jaw and growling (exactly how your brother did when he was little). It cracks us up. You also give us this “piggy” look when we do it to you. You scrunch your nose up and show your two front teeth.
Daily Activities: You love playing with toys between your naps. You also love walks in your little car. Considering you eat and nap so much, that is really majority of your day.
Eating: You have 4 bottles a day. About 6-8 ounces each. Half is breastmilk and the other is formula. You also have breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You’re getting a little less picky, but still eat a select amount of items. Blueberry waffle for breakfast. Fruit/veggie puree with some kind of solid fruit and/or veggie for lunch. And pasta (with tomato sauce), a veggie (usually sweet potato), and a fruit for dinner. Your favorites fruits are blueberries by far and strawberries, pears, and watermelon. You like sweet potatoes, carrots, green beans, and zucchini. You’ve also had some Chick-fil-a chicken and you’re a fan!
Sleeping: Same as last month – You still sleep about 11-12 hours at night with two naps. Your naps are getting shorter and you’re able to stay up longer in the morning. Almost tempting me to cut the first nap so you’ll sleep really long in the afternoon, but you still need that rest in the morning. You’re very easy to put down!
Your “photo shoot” was quite funny. You were thoroughly entertained by Beckham shaking a rattle.
I love seeing your relationship grow with your older brother.
