over at Family Balance Sheet, sharing how we paid off all our debt. If you have
ever liked any of my budgeting posts or are curious how we paid off our house in
33 months, you will definitely want to check out my answers to Kristia’s
questions. Click HERE to check it out. Let me know what you think or if you
have any questions. I’ll be reading the comments over there as well.
I’m linking up today with Mel, Shay, and Sheaffer to answer the questions below. I enjoy reading these
posts, so decided to join in this week.
WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:
I have these meals planned for the week. Key word, planned. I
really wanted to take a bite of that sandwich through my computer screen, so I
made them yesterday and oh gosh, they are good! My hubby is doing the Atkins
diet to lose a bunch of weight quickly (he’s already lost 12 pounds in a few
weeks), so I have to make sure the meals can be for him also. I’m also planning
on making Texas Roadhouse’s “Road Kill” which is a beef patty with mushrooms,
onions, and cheese melted on top. I’ll serve each dish with lots of veggies.
These recipes are all on my Pinterst
Recipes board.
WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:
I spent almost an hour the other night looking through old videos of Beckham
as a one year old. Maddox will turn one in a month and I guess that triggered
this. It was so incredible to see Beckham as a little tot. He was SO different
than Maddox at this age. He had been walking for 2 months already, was REALLY
loud, and had a big personality. Maddox is much different…completely content
with crawling (although I think he’s much more on the average side of
milestones), much calmer and easy going. This gives me hope for his toddler
years. I love Beckham and his personality, but I’m not sure I can handle two of
him! Looking back on these photos and videos also showed me how much easier it
was and how much stronger I am now than a couple of years ago. God has
definitely blessed me with these two.
WHAT I’M LOVING:
I’m really loving the fact that Maddox and Beckham will stay in the gym’s
child care without my name being called 15 minutes in. I only really thrive at
working out if it’s at a gym (home workouts are NOT my thing), so this has been
such a treat to workout during the day and know they’re having fun. I only
leave them in there about 50 minutes right now due to Maddox’s nap schedule and
the fact that I want to ease M into being away from me that long.
WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:
Trying to find things to do during these crazy days of rain.
Every.single.day. All.day.long. I’m really not sure how much more I can take. I’m thankful for the rain, but a little sunshine every now and then would be great so B can ride his bike or we can go on a walk. I think about the days of the flood when Noah built an ark and I’m pretty sure
it’s rained longer than 40 days and 40 nights. Thankfully, we are not confined
on a boat with stinky animals.
We have been doing A LOT lately. Hence the hiatus from blogging. Some of
the things we’ve been up to…
-Re-decorating the playroom – I cannot wait to show y’all!
-We got a patio cover installed – I’m so stinking excited about this. Summer
will be much more bearable under some shade. We just need to pick out some
patio furniture to complete our oasis…okay not really an oasis, but it will be
nice.
-B finished school
-Swim lessons
-Going to the gym
-Hanging out with friends and family – I got to see one of my best friends
from high school, Kelly, last weekend. It was SOOO good to catch up…we picked
up right where we left off! I love those kinds of friends!
-Tonight I’m going to a “Going Away” party for my best friend. She’s moving
to Utah to start a church with her hubby! They are awesome and I’m positive
they will do big things there! I’m so proud of her, but will miss her like
crazy.
WHAT I’M DREADING:
Not really anything. Oh wait, yes there is. Once I’m done pumping, I am
doing Advocare’s 24 Day Challenge, which includes a 10 day detox. I HATE eating
healthy, so I’m dreading this. But I really need to cleanse my system and be
better about the foods I eat.
WHAT I’M WORKING ON:
I’ve been completing lots of orders lately, but managed to make a new
Father’s Day one. I’m working on a couple more.
I’ve also been working on the playroom like I mentioned above. I’m trying to
work on de-cluttering our house too, but isn’t that always the case?
WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:
I’m excited for summer and Maddox’s 1st birthday! Summer means Ryan is home
a little more since he’s a teacher. He still has reffing camps and teaches
summer school, but it’s a much more scaled down schedule. And since party
planning is one of my favorite things to do, I’m super pumped about Maddox’s
birthday party! Please Lord, let the sun shine on his birthday! Speaking of,
how in the world is he one already?!
WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING:
I’m reading Fringe Hours by Jessica Turner. I’m watching The Bachelorette of
course. Lots of my shows just ended (American Idol, Survivor, Dancing with the
Stars). We were watching last season’s Gray’s Anatomy, but we lost 5 episodes
when we renewed our U-verse package, so I’m not sure what to do to catch up.
WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:
Surprisingly, I’m listening to a lot of rap and pop music while I workout.
It is so much harder for me to workout without music and the thug life is how I
roll when working out.
WHAT I’M WEARING:
Lots of t-shirts and yoga pants because, well, it’s just comfortable and
appropriate for wrangling young kids all day. I did wear this outfit to church
(this is an old picture, but I wore it again). I’m in need of some workout
clothes and sports bras, so I’m currently on the hunt.
WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:
We’re celebrating my brother’s 29th birthday this weekend. We are 15 months
apart! Our families are really close.
WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:
Definitely Maddox’s birthday and the fact that I’ll most likely be done
pumping. All you you pumpers, especially exclusive ones, feel my anticipation!
WHAT ELSE IS NEW:
Nothing I haven’t already mentioned. Just the playroom, patio cover, Maddox
cruising much more, and myself working out.
Can’t wait to check out some more blogs in the link up. I love connecting

Hi there! Found you on the link-up and just spend quite a bit of time playing around on your blog. I love it! I'm a CPA but can't manage my own money (or just don't like to) for the life of me. So I will be reading and taking notes from you! OH – and I've done the 24-day challenge a few times. It"s doable – you got this! 🙂

Send the rain to California! We are in a major drought!
And that cheesy bread….I NEED!!! YUM!
Thanks for linking up with us! 🙂

I love that you listen to rap while working out! Nothing makes me work out more than Kanye or Jay-Z. I am so happy that The Bachelorette started again too. Also, I really like Old Navy work out clothes. They go on sale a lot, and there is usually always a promo code if you order online. Have great day.

You will love your patio cover — it makes such a difference in how much time you spend outside! Enjoy your little ones this summer 🙂

I loved your article about paying off your mortgage – it's the only debt we have and I'm totally dreaming about ways we can try and pay if off early. I really wish we had worked on that hard before having kids. Now that I'm a stay-at-home mom {3 little ones} to a teacher as well {history teacher}, it's so much harder to find the extra cash! And I totally applaud you for pumping for an entire year – you rock! I had to pump with our second {I nursed our first and still nursing our third} and only made it 9 months, so you are doing great!
