Starting this week, I had roughly $60 to spend based on our $360 grocery budget. Ryan is gone a few days this week, and I plan to stay at my parents one of those nights so it eliminates some meals I have to make. Plus, I keep it really simple when he’s gone for myself. I’m trying to be conscious of our leftovers too.
Here’s our MEAL PLAN till the end of May:
Sunday – Breakfast for dinner
Monday – Chicken Tortilla Soup
Tuesday – Spaghetti and Turkey Meatballs (I’m using my meat loaf recipe but omitting the mushrooms/milk and adding some Italian seasoning. I would’ve added parmesan cheese but we didn’t have any)
Wednesday – Beans and Salad
Thursday – Leftovers (spaghetti or beans)
Friday – Eating with parents
Saturday – Eating with parents
Sunday – Something creative (whatever’s in the house)
Monday – Chicken Cornbread in Crock pot
Tuesday – Leftovers or Dinner out after game
Wednesday – NEW MONTH
As you can see it’s a kind of go-with-the-flow week with meals. This will probably work great since I always over plan our meals anyway.
GROCERIES:
Boy did we do well this week! If you follow me on Facebook, you saw that we got an amazing deal on ground turkey. We have enough ground turkey for quite a while! Here’s what we got!
In total this week we spent $56.65! That includes 12 pounds of lean ground turkey AND regular groceries! If I add that total to our previous totals, groceries for April come to $357.76!!!! Holler! Now, I’m sure I will need to buy another milk for Beckham, which is 5.49, but I finally came close to budget. Technically, we’re BELOW budget right now.
