Life lately has been busy and messy…can I just have a clean house for more than 2 hours. I’m so glad it’s Friday. I’m going back to my Cleaning Day Fridays and doing some deep cleaning…and by deep, I mean, picking it up and cleaning the bathrooms. It’s going to be a great weekend. Low key Saturday, Cowboys on Sunday!
FAVORITE MOMENT
My favorite moments this week were having some time for myself. I know that sounds selfish, but when you dedicate every waking hour to your family, a little me time is celebrated greatly. The boys go to a mother’s day out type program two days a week for 5 hours each day, and it really allows me to work and get things done. But I don’t have a picture of just myself at home, so here are a couple of other favorite moments this week.
FAVORITE MEAL/RECIPE
This week I made Nachos, Fajitas, and Baked Pasta! All were good, but this was nice because it fed the kids too. Little man (14 months) ate THREE helpings of this stuff with a side of pears. I’ll post the recipe in the next couple of weeks. I didn’t measure anything so there will be some guessing.
FAVORITE PRODUCT
I found these two earrings at Walmart for $2.88 each. I don’t normally buy jewelry, let alone at Walmart, but I was walking by and took a look at some cute earrings. They may only last a week, but for under $3, we’ll see. And they don’t hurt my ears (I have sensitive ears to some earrings).
FAVORITE INSTAGRAM/BLOG FOLLOW
I love a good fitness person on IG! I love the ones that show different exercises IN THE GYM. I definitely prefer the gym over my house. I love feeling “at home” and cozy in my home. It’s just the wrong place for me to workout. I’ve tried, but I have more success getting out the door to the gym with two kids versus doing a workout at home. Rachel (@rachelnicolefit) is one of my favorite workout inspirations.
FAVORITE FRUGAL TIP/EXPERIENCE
BUDGET. Yes, that is my tip. Make a budget, write down all your expenses (doing this daily makes it SO much easier…I’ve learned the hard way). Every time I write in our expenses, I’m so aware of what money we have and make better decisions when spending. We are in charge of our budget, our budget is not in charge of us…well, most of the time 😉 You can click on image to enlarge it.
FAVORITE BOOK / BIBLE VERSE / QUOTE
If you remember, one of my goals is to finish Smart Money, Smart Kids this month. I’m enjoying this book and highly recommend it to parents. It is OUR responsibility to teach our kids how to use money correctly. They will be taught how NOT to use it from everyone else, teach them young!
FAVORITE OUTFIT
I really don’t know why I buy anything other than jeans/shorts and a t-shirt. It is my absolute favorite thing to wear! Long, a little loose and comfy for the shirt. And the perfect fitting jeans. The perfect outfit on my favorite girl!
FAVORITE PIN
I have several this week. Here are some of my favorites. You can click on each picture to go to that pin.
Okay, this one is cheating a bit, but I just love these place mats I made last week! Just print, laminate (or not) and you’ve got the cutest table décor.
Next week I’m sharing how I work from home with two small children! Have a great weekend! Go Cowboys!
