Day 19 – My Favorite Blogs

I’m excited about this post.  Today’s topic for Day 19 is “Five of your favorite blogs and what you love about them.”  This was very hard for me to choose just five.  As a blogger myself, I LOVE blogs.  I love all different sorts of them – small blogs, large blogs, financial blogs, mommy blogs, food blogs, personal blogs, fashion blogs.  I love them all!  I know how much work goes into blogging, so I can appreciate FREE information written by people!

The following five blogs are in no particular order.  I find myself clicking on these blog posts when a new post pops up in my reading list.

1). BLISSFUL AND DOMESTIC (Danielle)

Why I love Blissful and Domestic – Danielle writes about thrifty living in general, which you know I love.  She has tips on how she and her family live off $14,000 a year.  She also has tons of recipes.  I love her breadsticks!  I adapted her grocery template to fit my needs and I absolutely love it.  It makes grocery shopping so much better.  But what I REALLY love about Danielle’s blog is that she asked me to guest post on her blog.  It was my first guest post…I was nervous.  I worked so hard on my post.  I had very few followers and she has really helped bring people to my blog ever since I posted on hers.  Some “popular” bloggers may have looked at my little old blog and and moved on, but she didn’t.  She valued my writing and let me enter her big blog world!  She is just great!  HERE is my guest post.  Go check her blog out!

Why I love Mix and Match Mama – Shay has two blogs, but since they’re both written by her, I counted them as one.  Where to begin with Shay!  She is quite the supermom.  I mean c’mon, she has two successful blogs (along with other sites she manages) that I find very interesting to read.  Mix and Match Mama is her food blog and Mix and Match Family is about her adorable family.  She might look familiar because she’s been on The Bachelor…yep, she is Sean Lowe’s older sister.  I found her blog when a friend of mine told me about “this girl I would be best friends with if I knew her.”  What I love about her food blog is she has my taste in food!  Tons of dessert recipes, which you know I love, and some great dinner ideas!  I love her Slow Cooker Cornbread Chicken Enchiladas.  I cooked the corn bread separate and used the leftover chicken for actual enchiladas the next day.  Soooo good!  And my favorite bundt cake of hers is the White Chocolate Raspberry bundt cake.  I emailed her asking if she would make this cake (I was trying to replicate Nothing Bundt Cake’s white chocolate raspberry version) and she did.  Whether she had already planned to or if it was per my request, I don’t know, but I was happy!  Her family blog is…well, just interesting.  I don’t know if it’s because we’re similar or what, but each post is fun to read.  She has a cool series going on now called “52 Shades of Shay.”  Awesome.  She also lives in my hometown, which of course makes her cool.  Our town rocks!  Check out her blog.  I’m sure you’ll love it!

Why I love Stylin’ Mommies – Jamie’s blog is a fashion blog.  I’m actually not a big follower of fashion blogs (though I should be), but hers is one of the best I’ve seen.  First of all, she is absolutely adorable!  She’s a mommy too, which is important when it comes to fashion for me.  I love her blog because I gravitate towards her style.  I usually resort to dressing safe, but her ideas help me see a cute outfit tied together.  She also shops at the stores I would go to.  You could name 5 designer brands and I would probably not know any of them.  I actually prefer this clothing to the fancy shmancy kind!  Beckham is sure to wipe something disgusting on it throughout the day, so I’m not going to waste my money!  Oh and I’m slightly obsessed with her hair!  Blonde, big, and long!  My favorite!  Southern hair for sure!  She’s very nice and has always replied to my emails!  I love bloggers like that.

Why I love I Heart Organizing – If you’re a blogger and have not heard of this blog, you might be living under a rock.  Well, at least if you’re interested in organizing!  You guys know I’m a Type A perfectionist who loves to organize…so does Jen, except she actually ends up doing it!  I love every.single.area of her house that is organized.  She was one of the first blogs I started following and I’ve spent hours going through her blog and reading posts!  She has just about every area in your house that you can imagine with ideas to help it look good and neat.  She’s the reason I ventured back into IKEA after swearing I’d never go back.  IKEA, you should totally pay her!  If you’re not already familiar with her blog, go check it out!  You’ll die!
 
 
 
5). GROWING SLOWER (Shannon)

Why I love Growing Slower – Ok, to be honest, I just found Shannon’s blog the other day!  But I love it because she talks about frugal living, pregnancy, parenting, DIY, and natural birth.  All things I love.  And I love her tag line – “Learning to Live Simply as we Grow our Family.”  Umm, I’m pretty sure she stole that out of my head.  Haha.  You know how much I stress living simply!  I love people who just get it!  I’ve read a few frugal tips and they’re great.  I plan to write a guest post for her soon (if it gets accepted) so look for later.  I look forward to reading more of her blog!  Come join me…check it out! 

There you have it!  Five blogs I love.  I know I didn’t include THIS blog in my list, but you must check it out.  One of the best financial blogs I’ve read.  I love how you can get to know someone through blogging!

    pretty sure i found you on danielles! i would love if you could recomend more living frugal blogs, oh…one i found was sweet southern mel. blogspot.com and she has dept dumping post, she did dave ramsey too. I have actually ordered the total money makeover, like 6 bucks and some change (trying to be frugal haha) on amazon, cant wait till it gets here!

      Lauryn, I'm glad you decided to stay after reading my post on Danielle's. I'll definitely write about good frugal/money saving blogs out there that I read. Thanks for the idea. And way to go on a $6 Dave Ramsey book! It will be the best $6 you spend.
