It’s been a long week, mainly because I’m 38.5 weeks pregnant and had the mindset that I’d have a baby already. This baby has officially been cooking longer than B did. But it was also a productive week. I’m really trying to soak up this family (of 3) time I have right now.
Day 162: Summer = Watermelon in a swim suit! In Texas, there really is no point of stepping outside unless you’re going to be in a pool. This boy could eat half a watermelon in one sitting.
Day 163: One of my best girl friends, Kristen, is officially a stay at home mama, and we immediately had a play date as soon as we could. She just had twins and I was holding the little boy when Beckham came up to me right as we were about to leave, and asked if he could hold the baby. I was SHOCKED! It was perfect timing, practicing for his little brother!
Day 164: He loves tracing letters! I was actually pretty surprised at how well he did…we just started doing it one day for fun. See at the bottom of this post how I made him a printable and laminated it so he could trace whenever he wants now.
Day 165: Movie and popcorn in a box! He loved this. I saw this on Pinterest with a car box version. I was going to make it a car, but he hopped in before it turned into a “car” and we just went with it.
Day 166: Father’s Day! This man is a great dad and he has really done his share, and more, these last several weeks! Beckham is lucky to have him.
Day 167: This was my view on Monday…WORLD CUP 2014! U-S-A baby! We taught Beckham how to chant for the good old USA! It was an exciting game.
Day 168: I had an appointment on Tuesday in Dallas (Ryan had to be at home for carpet cleaning). My mom met me there and kept B entertained (no kids allowed in office). Then we headed back to my parents place to play, eat, nap, and swim. My mom is seriously the best. I have not been able to do much and she kept him entertained, picked up some things for me at the car wash place that they “forgot” to put back in my car (while B and I napped), and brought me back a Sonic drink. Mom of the Year!
Some more pictures from last week:
On Wednesday, Ryan and I went to Pappas Bros, one of (if not THE) top steak restaurant in Dallas. I cannot describe how good the food was. Every bit was PERFECT. We were so stuffed that we couldn’t eat dessert. Our waiter offered us a complimentary dessert to take home and eat later. This was the Chocolate Turtle Pie encrusted in an oreo pie crust. I’m pretty sure the food at this place is what food in Heaven tastes like.
Beckham enjoys reading in his old chair in the baby’s room. I walked by and caught him doing this. He says he’s going to read to “baby brudder.”
On Saturday, we visited a small salsa shop in our downtown. I got some salsas for my dad and father-in-law, as well as some apple butter. I love small shops in our city!
Ryan’s Father’s Day goodies on Sunday morning! I got him a sunshade for his car (not pictured). That sign is an “interview” with Beckham’s answers. They were really cute! Here is what he said…
Father’s Day morning before church!
After a long day of celebration! He’s at an age where he’s starting to prefer daddy over mommy 🙁 I know it’s normal and actually healthy, but mama’s gonna have to learn how to back off 🙂 And how cute does my hubby look in this purple shirt?!
On Monday, we had our house cleaned. Ryan was working, so I took B on an errand and then to CFA to play. I will always remember these little dates of ours!
Haha…stuffed my tacos with jalapenos, trying to get this baby out!
Tuesday on my way to the hospital, I grabbed Starbucks and got to the window only to realize I forgot to tell them ICED. Totally my fault, but they made me the iced version anyway and still gave me the hot one too. So I took it to my mom. Another reason to love Starbucks!
The same day when we were at my parents, this little guy went in the pool for his first real swim by himself, obviously with floaties. Ryan was with him in the pool, but I was freaking out the whole time. It’s one of my worst fears with kids. But he LOVED it and was pretty fearless, which I was surprised about since he hates getting water in his eyes.
Like I mentioned above, I made B a template for tracing letters. I posted this on Instagram and said I’d share on my blog. I’m inserting the JPG image here on my blog so you can right click it and download it for yourself. You could also easily make this in Microsoft Word or Power Point.
I designed this in Photoshop (I used a light gray font color so it was traceable) and printed it out on 11×17 paper at Office Max (it’s actually sized for 11×14, but that size prints on 11×17 anyway…you could keep as is or trim it once it is printed). Then I had them do the really thick laminate on it and it’s perfect! He uses dry erase markers to trace the letters, which he loves even more. And then we just wipe it down. It’s great because we can take it wherever (restaurant, grandmas, etc) and just wipe it down afterwards (serves as a place mat too). Below is a general one without a name that you can download and use. If you create your own, you could do an 8.5×11 so it is easier to take places. Beckham is 2.5 yrs. and does great with it. Just click on the image and save the picture to your computer.
How to get for yourself:
1. Right click and save image to your computer.
2. Save to a flash drive and take it to a printing shop or office supply store (I take mine to Office Max).
3. Hand them your flash drive and tell them you want to print this and have it laminated with the thick laminate. My guy recommended printing it on paper so it would laminate easier.
4. Take home and enjoy. Each poster cost about $5.00.
*These are available for PERSONAL use and not intended for re-sell. Feel free to share as you want. Have a great week!
