Today’s topic for the Blog Everyday in May is “things that make you uncomfortable.” A lot of things make me uncomfortable so here ya go!
- Talking in front of a large group of people. And by large, I mean, over 5 people!
- When couples argue in front of me.
- When customers get angry at employees or raise a stink in front of other customers.
- When other people get embarrassed.
- Watching my dad or husband “make a deal” with someone when purchasing a product.
- Being around dogs – I know I know…what kind of human am I, but they make me very uncomfortable, especially the bigger they are. No, I was not attacked by one as a child, but I’m afraid that their fur, slobber, snot, and smell will get on me.
- Holding somebody else’s newborn.
- When a child “takes charge” of a parent…in front of their teacher. Yep, saw this too many times.
- When people watch me work out at the gym in the “guys section” (aka the weights).
- When people dance in the car next to me.
- When a lot of people look at me.
- When I get caught in a long hallway with someone on the total opposite side and we have to acknowledge each other. Do you say something far away? Do you wait to get closer? If you say something too early, what do you say the rest of the way? C’mon, admit it. This has happened to you.
- When my child screams in the grocery store or restaurant.
- When people have a strong accent. I CANNOT understand people who do not speak clear English. I don’t know what’s wrong with my ears, but it makes me feel uncomfortable. Funny story – At the nail salon, the lady asked me, “Do you want deluxe or regular?” I said “what” like 3 times and finally answered, “yes it’s been a long time since I got a pedicure.” After my friend finished laughing at me, she had to translate what she actually said. I thought she was saying I didn’t come in regularly or something.
- Pumping in a staff bathroom during lunch, hoping no one gets in on accident.
- Dancing at a wedding.
- Yoga!
Here’s a video that goes very well with #14
Any of those make you uncomfortable?
