Today’s post for Blog Everyday in May is “A Day in the life.” I love reading these kinds of posts on other blogs, so hopefully you will enjoy this too. As a stay at home mom, everyday is different, but this was how our Tuesday (yesterday) went.
8:00 – Woke up and got Beckham. He was so happy to see me. He’ll stand up and then sit down to read me his Bible.
8:15 – Breakfast. I also ate toast and eggs with him.
Then Beckham plays with some toys and watches cartoons while I clean up the kitchen and make my coffee. I’m not big on T.V. but when he does watch it, it’s in the morning. Beckham plays while I get ready for the day. Then I get him dressed.
Awww, I love a clean kitchen!
Before I make the bed each day, Beckham likes to play on it and have me chase him! He LOVES this.
10:00 – Head out to run some errands to IKEA and Wal-Mart. I needed frames at IKEA. At Wal-Mart, I needed a black t-shirt for soccer ($4) and some exfoliating cleanser.
This is one way we save money – don’t take toll! We pick and choose when to use toll. I saved about $5.20 round trip by taking the access road instead. It’s about a 10 minute drive vs. 6 minute drive on toll. Just depends on our rush.
Beckham was horrible in IKEA. He kept screaming at me!
I got 2 frames for the playroom and I thought this film strip was so cute for the playroom also. It hangs on the wall. I’ll have a post soon with the final room makeover.
Had to get gas at Wal-Mart also! Right now, they have a promotion if you use a gift card to buy gas, you save $.10 per gallon. So we put money on a card when we need gas and use this throughout the month. This gas cost $3.12/gallon just for using the card.
12:00 – Home from errands. Bunny down…can you spot him?
12:15 – Lunch for him. While he’s eating, I make mine. Then eat on the couch while he plays.
Playing
Trying to bite me. He thinks this is hilarious. And I’m really trying hard not to react. Toddler problems.
1:10 – Nap time. See what I do during his nap below.
Before I start my cleaning, I turn on Michael Buble and my Scentsy to get the house smelling like “Havana Cabana.” Now I’m ready. First up, some laundry.
Next up, get dinner ready so I just have to bake it later on. I made my delicious MEATLOAF. If you haven’t made this, you must! In the fridge, ready to go. And no, we do not eat brown bananas. They’re for BANANA BREAD I plan to make today.
Next, I clean the kitchen…again! Doesn’t that after photo just make you so calm?
The other side clean too.
Then, the living room
Next up, the playroom.
Then, some more laundry
I picked up some more around the house in our room and the bathrooms. Then around 3:30 I sat down on the computer to get some tasks completed on my to-do list. I updated our budget, called to change a well visit appointment, called to schedule a hair removal appointment. Then I read some blogs and Facebook for fun.
4:15 – Beckham was still sleeping, but my friend Kristen and her baby were coming over soon so we could go to the park and eat dinner. So, I went in his room to wake him up. This was a long nap. He naps anywhere from 2-3.5 hours.
4:45 – Off to the splash park for some wet fun! They were hesitant at first.
Water flying out of the ground and he wanted to sit on the chair.
Harper and Kristen getting wet! B splashing in the puddles.
5:40 – Headed back home for dinner! Here’s what we had! With asparagus and mashed potatoes.
7:15 – Leaving Ryan with baby duty while I go play some soccer games. I had two at two different places. One with my old college teammates and the other with some friends I’ve met in McKinney.
8:15 game – We won 10-0.
9:42 game – We tied 9-9. Such a good game. I’m exhausted after a long night, but I love it! 10:40 and headed home! My hamstring is killing me!
11:00 – I get home to Ryan on the kitchen floor trying to unclog our sink. Never have I had this happen. Bless his heart, he tried to help by doing the dishes. And this my friends is why I like to do everything myself. But I’m not mad, he was helping. I wish I had a picture for you.
11:15 – Shower and start the long process of drying my hair. My hair takes FOREVER to dry. I decided to go curly tonight. There are 3 phases to this process. Phase 1 – scrunch wet hair with gel.
11:45 – Watch a little of the Rangers game with Ryan after my shower. My body is sore…I can’t move.
12:00 – Start this blog post with my yummy popcorn and let hair dry some.
12:30 – Phase 2: Dry hair with diffuser.
12:40 – Blog again.
1:20 – Call it a night and do phase 3 before bed: Final dry with diffuser. I’m a night owl, but my goal is to go to bed around 11-12:00pm. This is an unusually late night though with a soccer game at 9:42.
So that was my day. Pretty typical for the most part.

Wow, your day seems pretty busy! I feel very lazy in comparison. Your kitchen looked pretty tired to me in the before pics, much tidier than mine. I love a bit of Michael buble too, just got the new cd to play in the car. Im trying to get tickets now for the US tour 🙂

It was pretty busy. Some days are the complete opposite and we're at home but I don't like those days as much because Beckham seems bored after a while. I usually try to get out at least once, even if its just to the park or a play date. My evenings are usually calmer without soccer
