Beckham turned 3 last month and I thought it was the perfect time to introduce the Elf on the Shelf. I wanted to do it so badly last year, but it wasn’t worth my time. I thought it’d be perfect since he’s definitely in that terrible threes stage (whew, I thought two was bad). FYI, the elf has not helped his behavior one bit. Either he doesn’t get the whole “Elf will tell Santa” deal, or he simply doesn’t care. I kind of think it’s both. But he LOVES finding Elf in the mornings so it’s been fun. After lots of explaining of what a name was, he still insisted it be “Elf.” Creative I know.
Elf showed up with a North Pole breakfast. Thanks to Pinterest, Elf showed up in fashion. I covered our table in brown shipping paper, bought some festive paper plates and cups, and made some “food from the North Pole.” We had the red placemats and the tree was from Beckham’s room. I made the sign of course and wrote the letter. I made a quiche with ham, broccoli, and cheese. I had intended on making a Christmas tree with the broccoli, but just threw it all in there last minute. I also planned on making Santa hats with the raspberries, grapes, and marshmallows, but should have used strawberries instead…it looked so stupid, so I just had a bowl of Christmas colored fruit. We also had snow covered donuts and vanilla yogurt with sprinkles. I also threw a candy cane in his cocoa. Elf brought a present for him as well.
It was a great morning and he was extremely excited and surprised. Maddox will be in on the action next year. It should get better and better each year.
This is what Elf has been up to this week…
