Good morning friends! And Happy 4th of July week! We have some plans to cookout, swim, and watch fireworks tonight.
Today I’m doing a long over-due pregnancy update BUT FIRST, I’m announcing the winner of my giveaway last week.
And the winner is…
JUSTINE BENOIT
Congratulations Justine. Email me at joyfulartdesigns@gmail.com so we can get you all hooked up with a shirt and mug!!!
Now on to a little pregnancy update. Last time I updated was 21 weeks. I’m now 26 weeks and I’ve had a lot of changes since then. Not gonna lie, things seem to be getting overwhelming at this point and I’m a little nervous with all I have to get done before she arrives.
Here is my 26 week picture.
The last picture I remembered to take was at 23 weeks so here is a progress picture from 23 weeks to 26 weeks.
How far along? 26 weeks 2 days…(due date is October 7th)!
Total weight gain/loss? 12 pounds (but that was at 24 weeks when I had my appointment…haven’t even weighed myself).
How big is baby? Size of a a scallion (about 14 inches long) and weighs about 1 2/3 pounds.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep? Starting to get a little harder. But overall, not too bad.
Fitness? None. Ugh!
Best moment this week? Seeing my belly move as she kicked and punched me.
Miss anything? I miss working out! Yes, I could workout, but I have zero desire and literally find anything and everything to do but workout. I miss sitting up quickly and just moving around easier.
Food cravings? Sugar! And soda. Why!!!???
Anything making you queasy or sick? No.
Current Symptoms? This is what has changed the most. I have 3 new symptoms as of last week. 1. Braxton Hicks Contractions – I started noticing them last week and I only got them once a day at the end of the day. I got them with both kids during pregnancy, but I thought they came a lot later. 2. Swelling – My ankles are starting to swell, primarily when I sit down for too long. This is by far, the worst symptom I get. I swell so bad and it becomes painful towards the end. 3. Heartburn – I remember getting this badly with Beckham (#1) and it’s back with this one! And, I technically have another new symptom, but it’s a little TMI (but what pregnancy post isn’t). Let’s just say I don’t think I’ll have any issues with milk supply. Same exact timing as my previous pregnancies. Last pregnancy, I got mastitis (yes, during pregnancy, not from breastfeeding) and I’m just praying that doesn’t happen again.
Belly button in or out? Out
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Mood? Tired.
I feel like the pregnancy has gotten real! I also decided I want to decorate the nursery to be suited just for her. It’s still a nursery from Maddox. It’s not too boy-ish, but with this being our last and a girl, I want to decorate. We’ll see.
And that’s about it for now. I have a lot on my to-do list before October. B starts Kindergarten in August, we’re going to the beach this month as a family, I have a consignment sale I’m doing at the end of this month, I have several house projects that need to be done, and I’m trying to get my business/blog expanded and squared away before then…just to name a few.
But I’m off to celebrate our great country today (and tomorrow).

I was hoping that, if this was going to be your last baby, and first girl, that you would “girly up” the nursery.
