I’m linking up with Andrea today to show you my family room! It’s nothing special, but it’s always fun to take a peak inside someone’s house and see how they decorate! We have a fairly small house (well according to American blogger’s standards), but I like that we can keep it simple and it’s nice and cozy!
I tried taking pics without B in them, but this is life and how our living room is occupied! Our family room is open to the kitchen! I love! I plan on replacing this rug with another I have picked out. It’s more neutral and modern.
Our fireplace. Yep, that is a black cardboard piece against our fireplace. We were sick of cleaning up the mess when B would get in the fireplace! So we covered it. He’s probably fine now, but with another little one soon, might as well keep everything “baby proof.”
This is the sign I have on the mantle right now. I don’t actually really like it here with the other décor, but I placed it up there to take a picture for my shop listing and just kept it there (you can get this sign HERE). Need an inexpensive way to decorate a big space? Line 3 tall mirrors together. I think each one cost $5.00. I want to do something different with our mantle, but I’m a HUGE mirror fan and love that it takes up the height of this room.
I just cleaned out the top three shelves of our entertainment piece a few days ago. I wish I had a before…they were cluttered with junk.

We spend LOTS of time in here! I love this room and get compliments often of how it’s cozy and homey! That is EXACTLY how I want people to feel when they come over (and myself). I usually keep lamps on in here or the overhead light above the fireplace! And a candle is almost always burning on the bar! White carpet…yes, I hate, but re-carpeting or installing wood is NOT in our plans right now! We professionally clean at least once a year and go through many cans of carpet cleaner!
Where are the toys? We have a SMALL playroom (you’ll see soon) in sight of this family room where all the toys are, but we keep a small basket of books and toys underneath our coffee table. See it underneath the table between the two chairs?
Just a peak into our house. This room almost always stays this clean…I promise. Of course it gets messy, but it’s the one room I clean every day, multiple times a day! And vacuum every day! We’re in it all the time and I CAN’T stand when it’s a mess!

i agree, I also love to take a peek into someones house to see their decor ideas! Im super nosey and will try to look at the background of pictures that are posted to see what people have in their house, lol…I would enjoy more posts like these!!
