If I had one word to sum up the last week it would be “WHOA!” It has been a crazy, unplanned, what-do-you-do kind of week. Last Thursday I was about to take the boys to school and when I picked up Maddox to put in his car seat, his pants were all wet. So I went inside to change his pants and see why they were wet…he had the runniest bowel movement I’ve ever seen. Gross, I know. I knew something was up and kept him home. It was Halloween day at school so the kids dressed up, had a parade, and had a party. I was bummed he couldn’t go, but we dropped off Beckham and I had, yet another unproductive school day. I use these two days to get work done, run errands, and get any domestic duties done. 🙂 But I wouldn’t want anyone else taking care of my little nugget. It was rough. He threw up on the way home, which is when I knew he was really sick. That was fun cleaning out his car seat. #not Ryan had to come home and give me the other one so I could pick up B later that day. He ended up vomiting and “filling his diapers” all day long. I missed B’s parade, missed his party, and had the teachers bring him out to the car so I didn’t take Maddox inside. He told me he looked for me at the parade but couldn’t find me…broke my heart.
We were home-bound the next two days from sun up to sun down! Maddox just kept having horrible diapers and threw up a few more times. Other than those few incidences, he was happy as a bird! I had a TON of things to do, but I just had to do them late at night when Ryan got home (or not at all). Very little sleep…as usual!
We thought he was in the clear this weekend, but he once again, had a really bad diaper yesterday! Ugh! That’s been life lately, but we did manage to have a fun Halloween and a birthday filled weekend. Here’s life lately…
This year we threw our first neighborhood Halloween party! Our neighbor, Garry and his wife, did so much of the work and it was a lot of fun to meet some new neighbors. We had hotdogs, tons of desserts, games, prizes, and candy of course. Here are some more pictures of the party!
The kids had fun and went to bed all sugared up! Halloween also happened to be one of my favorite nights…Daylight Savings Time! All night owls can appreciate this day! An extra hour? Yes, please! My kids aren’t really affected by this. I’m not sure why, but they seem to wake up at the same time, or maybe 30 minutes earlier. We are relaxed morning sleepers (since we don’t have to rush out for day care or anything), so that may be the reason, but regardless, I love it!
On Sunday we decided to stay home from visiting a new church again since Maddox has been iffy. Visiting a new church every Sunday right now (we’re looking for a new one), is really difficult on Maddox. He already has a hard time at drop offs, but now he’s passed off to a strange person with kids he doesn’t know! I can’t wait to find a church for that reason alone!
Yesterday was my mom’s birthday so we all met up for lunch at Cristina’s for tex-mex food!
This was the only picture I snapped, but it’s great…Maddox dipping his tortilla in queso! #texasinhisblood
We went straight from the restaurant to drop off Ryan and Maddox and head to another birthday party for a friend of Beckham’s who he goes to school with. I didn’t capture any photos there, but my friend Kristen, snapped a few of B and her daughter! They’re little besties too!
We decided to grab coffee at Starbucks after the party since we both only had one kiddo with us! It was such a fun time just hanging out with them! These two are a few months apart!
