Yay for me! I didn’t make a mid-week run to the grocery store this last week. That’s big for me! I planned well before I went to the store last weekend and stayed strong. We needed butter on Thursday, but I did without and waited for this weekend’s trip. Wish me luck this week. I didn’t buy any sugary/dessert food this week and that’s usually what I crave during the week. Trying to cut WAY down on those sugars in my diet.
Here’s our MEAL PLAN first, then groceries below.
Breakfast: Egg Sandwich, Scrambled Eggs/Toast, Grapefruit, Oatmeal
Lunch: Beans and Salad, Smoothie, Leftovers
Dinner:
Sunday – Dr. Pepper Pulled Pork Sandwiches (I added bbq sauce to our individual portions, so I could use the rest for various recipes this week without the bbq sauce).
Monday – Chicken Fajitas w/ Crockpot Beans (my son LOVES these beans)
Tuesday – Crockpot Chipotle Corn Chicken
Wednesday – Pork Tacos (using Sunday’s meat). I add an avocado and cilantro with pulled pork in a tortilla.
Thursday – Steak on the grill, potato, veggie
Friday – Dinner out or leftovers
Saturday – Leftovers or sandwiches (we’re eating at my parents for lunch to celebrate our family’s April birthdays, so we’ll probably be really full this night since we usually eat a lot over there or eat a late lunch)
Sunday – Crockpot Taco Chili Chicken Soup
Trying to use my crockpot more. Apparently when I baby turns into a toddler, a mother’s job gets 10x harder and it makes cooking dinner a lot more difficult! I asked Ryan last night, “When do you think I’ll eat a normal meal again?” I now load my plate with a little extra (to feed my kid who JUST ate his own dinner) and calmly chew my food as he screams at me if I dare eat a bite of my own food. I’m tired of prepping 6 meals a day, so I’m letting the crockpot do one for me!
GROCERIES:
Our grocery budget is $360 this month. Last week we spent $106.86. I went to Wal-Mart and Albertson’s this week. I decided to wake up early and go to Wal-Mart around 8am on Sunday before church. WOW! I highly recommend this time of day for a Wal-Mart grocery run. First of all, I had NO baby with me. Second of all, the store is almost empty which is just beautiful! And third of all, you’re done grocery shopping before church. Well, I did run into Albertson’s on the way home to grab a few items. Here’s what we got and how much we spent!
In total this week, we spent $90.47! Not too bad. A few more dollars than I had planned, but hopefully the turkey and chicken deal will help us in the future this month. So far for April, we have spent $197.33. We have about $163 left this month!
