This is my third week documenting my grocery hauls and meal plans! You can find Week 1 here and Week 2 here. This was a little different week as it was my birthday week (remember each of these weeks is one week behind so I can post my actual meals…because they change from my meal plan).
I did my main grocery shopping at Winco. This was my second time to shop here (I’m trying different stores to see where I save the most). I actually spent a little more than I expected to. I don’t know if that was because I bought a lot or it wasn’t really that cheap. I feel like it was similar to Walmart. We also had 3 other mid-week runs. Usually our mid-week runs are for milk, which leads to a couple of other purchases.
Winco: $81.70
Kroger: $3.29
Walmart: $19.91
Kroger: $12.45
And here are some close-ups…
I don’t have pictures for the other trips. And if I’m being honest, I don’t even know what the Kroger trips included besides milk (Ryan made those trips). Here was our grocery budget this week and so far this month:
Week 3 Total: $117. 35
Total this month: $374.48 (257.13 from Week 1 & 2 + 117.35)
These were the meals we had this week:
Monday: Harvest (birthday dinner with friends)
Tuesday: Texas Roadhouse (birthday dinner with Ryan and the boys)
Wednesday: Crock Pot Beans and cornbread
Thursday: Sausage and Pasta (just cut up some chicken sausage and added to pasta with pasta sauce
Friday: Pizza (I’m a sucker for pizza of any kind and did NOT feel like cooking this night so we ordered Dominoes Pan pizza. It was SOOOO good! The boys ate a ton as well and we finished the entire thing…it wasn’t a huge pizza, but still)…Ryan was gone this night
Saturday: Gatti’s Pizza – yes, we went there…B loves this place and I have no problem eating pizza twice in a row…or 4 times in a row
Sunday: Dickey’s BBQ – we always go out to eat for Sunday lunch, but Ryan had a game that day and had to leave right after church, so we went out that night
Okay, so I’m kind of laughing realizing how much I went out to eat. No wonder I gained weight this week! Needless to say, we have tons of leftovers and will be eating those to compensate for the disgusting amount of times we ate out last week. With a $400 monthly budget, that doesn’t leave much left for the week. Our needs are pretty minimal this week, but we will see. I do have some money from Walmart Savings Catcher that I think I’m going to use as well ($30ish) so it technically will save some money. I’ll post next week about our final monthly haul and budget.
And thank you for those who have commented and left some money saving tips. I love learning new things about grocery shopping. I wish I could do these posts each month as it really helps me stay on track knowing I have to publish them 🙂

We tried to go to Harvest for my last birthday, but it was scare on the square and they weren’t seating except for the patio. Maybe I’ll have more luck next year. Oh, if you like pizza and haven’t tried Cadillac’s it is a must! As for winco, it has been hit or miss for us, too. We did get an awesome deal on bottled Dr. Pepper for my husbands lunch. They had it for 98 cents a 6 pack at the beginning of the month.

I agree with Charity! Cadillac is maybe my very favorite McKinney pizza!! You guys need to try that if you haven’t already.
