So glad it’s Friday! The Mr. only has to work a few hours tomorrow so we will actually get to hang out a bit on Saturday. I have a couple of favorite items and tons of favorite moments from the second half of January (read January Part 1 here).
I have been using this stuff since I started teaching little germy 8 year olds. Anytime I start to feel a little under the weather, I start drinking this every morning until I feel better. It’s really yummy…like a fizzy orange drink.
This cream is SOOO good for dry skin, especially sensitive skin. My sister-in-law was recommended this cream for her skin when she was a little kid for dryness and sensitivity. I love it because I can buy a big tub and use it for all of us. It’s thick but creamy and easy to spread on. I use this every night before bed (and several times throughout day). I wash dishes, bottles, pump parts, and my hands at least 4-6 times a day so my hands are really dry. This makes them silky smooth immediately. I also use this on my feet. Soft skin!
Okay so this is a super awkward picture of me, but I have to share this mascara if you are in search of a new one. It’s inexpensive, easy to apply, and works! On left is mascara. On right is no mascara. I curl my lashes with an eyelash curler then put one coat on top and bottom lashes.
I use Maybelline Pumped Up (the darkest black…don’t know the name). I buy it at Walmart for $6-7 and it lasts me about 2 months.
The weather has really been awesome this January and we have taken advantage every evening when Maddox starts to get fussy before dinner. February is usually one of our coldest months, so we soaked it up. I hope it comes back.
Beckham had an “art show” last week. Here he is standing with his art work. The title was “The Snail”
I love this kid’s competitive nature. He tries to cheat during games…most of the time I’m too lazy to fight it, but you should hear his daddy play with him! No mercy!
I had the most awesome day last Saturday! Ryan was gone reffing, so I went to my parent’s house (where I lived from birth – graduating high school). I packed up the kids and the 1 million items needed and we headed over there. They live about 30-40 minutes away. I get the best feeling when I turn the corner on their quiet street. I love taking B for walks around the neighborhood…brings back so many memories.
That day I got to go eat lunch with my mom, Aunt, and grandma while my 15 year old niece watched Beckham and Maddox napped. Then we played outside and hung out until my parents sent me to get a massage. I had a certificate for an hour massage. but cannot find the time to get one during this time. So my mom gave me her appointment time she had already scheduled and my dad (who was there getting a massage himself) paid for an extra half hour for me to go (the appt was for a 1.5 hour massage). I cannot tell you how bad I’ve needed a massage since the day Maddox was born…difficult pregnancy, super LONG delivery, and a rough 6 months start with a large baby attached to my hip really called for a massage. Heaven…I think I fell asleep twice. I came back to their house with Maddox asleep in pack n play and Beckham bathed and ready to go home. What a nice break. Thanks mom and dad!
My favorite time of the day is when I sip coffee and watch these two play before Maddox goes back down for his morning nap.
And it’s always fun to watch your kid stuff himself in a box.
I purged a ton of clothes and shoes from my closet. 2015 is the year of purging for me. Less truly is more.
My 2 favorite little boys. Sometimes they drive me crazy, but they sure do keep me company when hubby’s gone.
My favorite devotion this week! This devotion was written just for people like me.
Playing outside in the backyard. Our goal before Spring is to clean up and add some fun things to the backyard.
My little helper. Reading him a book before he gets in the bathtub!
I ran a couple of errands yesterday (dermatologist and a new drivers license) while B was at school and Glenna (MIL) came over to watch Maddox. I came home to a clean house, a happy baby, and folded laundry. This was just the baby stuff…she did several loads. What more could a mom ask for?!
Yesterday Maddox was sleeping and I let B watch a movie in my bed. I made some goals, ate strawberry-lemon bread, and drank a soda…I’m giving these up in February so I’m enjoying one these last two days of January. 🙁 I never was a soda drinker until after college. They’re so bad for you so I really need to stop.
I made this dinner last night really last minute. I threw a frozen chicken breast in a crock pot with bbq sauce and cooked it on high for 3 hours. Shredded it, added more bbq sauce and served it over a baked potato! So good. Sometimes last minute dinners are my favorite.
Beckham just got into doing the dishes. He was so serious about it. He said, “Mommy I do dishes. I have twenty minutes left.” I now know what to let him do when I need to cook dinner or clean the kitchen.
After the boys went to sleep last night, I started cleaning up and came across this on the entry table. I couldn’t even move it. I don’t know why I loved it so much. I love seeing toys B has lined up. This kid is the messiest, most organized person. Hmmm I wonder where he gets that?
Is there anything sweeter than your sleeping child?
Maybe when your little man rests his hand on you.
And props to this guy. He’s mastered the one handed bottle hold. #baller All you exclusive pumpers out there know what a milestone this is. I don’t have to listen to screaming while I set myself up to the pump (or hold the bottle while pumping).
I’m excited for this weekend. My best friend and her kiddos are coming over to hangout tonight while our hubbies are at basketball games. We’re gonna make pizzas and try and keep 5 small children happy 🙂 And looking forward to family time and the Super Bowl, where the Cowboys should be. Have a great weekend.
I’m linking up with Erika, Andrea and Narci for Friday Favorites. My favorites are really random today!

One of the things that I miss most about living in Texas was getting a diet Coke from Sonic. There was just something so perfect about the ice and the diet Coke…sigh. It's a sad thing that we don't have Sonics up here in the North-at least not where I live. Anyway…your Sonic pic has made me homesick!
Love seeing pics of your favorites. That chicken/baked potato just might be dinner tomorrow night!

That is tragic there is no Sonic! They're on every street and highway exit here in Texas! I added vanilla to mine. Hope you like the chicken…could use leftovers for bbq chicken sandwiches! That's what we did.

Olivia, I am also a teacher and I use those "Emergen-C" packets! I was starting to get sick at the beginning of this week, and every morning I made a fruit smoothie and put one of those packets in. I feel better now and I didn't have to go to the dr. or take medicine! I swear it really helps, especially if you use them right when you start to feel rundown or sick! Have fun watching the Super Bowl tonight!! 🙂
