Friday Favorites

It’s Friday and my younger sister is in town so we should have some fun things going on this weekend!  You know those days that your head is spinning in a million different directions, your house is a mess, you feel like you you’re performing so many daily tasks, but each one is at 50% capacity because you’re spread thin, and nothing seems to be going right?  Well, that was yesterday.  Ryan has been gone every night this week except Monday (and gone again tonight)…those days are hard.  I’ve only managed to get 5 hours of sleep each night.  Boo!  So, here’s to hoping this weekend is a refresher!

FAVORITE MOMENT
We went to the Pumpkin Patch this week with my mother in law and had a great time.  I’ll share more pictures next week.  Thank you Glenna for a fun morning and lunch! 

FAVORITE MEAL/RECIPE
I didn’t take any pictures of food this week because we had tacos on Monday and a chicken rice casserole yesterday.  I did make my favorite pancakes on Wednesday with some bacon and eggs.

FAVORITE PRODUCT
I have been searching for containers at the store that had a bunch of little sections for small, cut up food for the boys, especially Maddox.  But I could never find them.  I did find some Nuby freezer containers (4 in a pack) and those worked well actually and were only $6-7 at Walmart.  However, I decided to purchase the Bentgo Kids Children’s Lunch Box  on Amazon for both boys.  They are kind of expensive for a lunch container, but cheaper than some of the other options out there.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE them!  The containers are perfectly sized and they seal nicely so nothing leaks.  They’re kind of heavy.  The middle part comes out so you can put it in the dishwasher.  I think they’re worth the money if you can splurge a little.  And this is what I packed the boys for lunch yesterday.  Maddox’s is on top and Beckham’s is on bottom.  Maddox – Trader Joes Apple and Chardonnay chicken sausage (with a squirt of BBQ sauce mixed in), goldfish, raisins, olives, and mandarin oranges.  Beckham – TJ chicken sausage also, Cheetos puffs, pickles/olives, mandarin oranges, and a combo of yogurt covered raisins and a few candy corn.




FAVORITE INSTAGRAM/BLOG
I just discovered this chick on YouTube and her story is mine exactly to a T!  Hopefully my results are similar!  Her name is Danielle and when she was explaining her journey with pregnancy and weight, it was like she was taking the words from my mouth…exact weights and everything.  I’m very much into lifting vs. cardio and love a more muscle-y look (maybe not quite as much) vs. “skinny.”  Just for me personally.

Sometimes I get jealous of people who have more or seem to have things a little easier, but it’s struggle that makes us who we are and strengthens us!

FAVORITE OUTFIT
This week we had a slight dip in the weather so I wore a long sleeve top and white shorts (I was ripping the top off by 2:00pm…too hot).  I love the orange color though…it makes me look tan.  Lol.  I don’t adhere to the no white after Labor Day rule.  That’s for non-Texans 🙂  Those are TOMS leopard flats and they really are the best!  I bought them on sale from Zulily last year.  I’m sold.

I’ve been doing some research on taxes for bloggers (I know a ton for my graphic design biz, but blogging is tricky to me).  This article was helpful.  If you’re a blogger or small business owner, check it out.
