I can’t believe it’s already Friday…this week flew by for me! The kids are off for a couple of weeks and my hubby will have some time off too for the next couple of weeks. I’m finishing up some orders and will close my shop on Sunday for a much needed break! I usually take off 2-3 weeks from my shop and “re-charge.” I plan on spending this time focusing on my blog as well and hopefully (for the love) switching over to WordPress with a name change. This has been so hard for me.
Over the next couple of weeks, I’ll be goal setting and catching up on some SLEEP! Here are some Friday Favorites for ya!
I am loving my Christmas card holder we made at my Girl’s Christmas Party last week!
One of my favorite moments last week was seeing Beckham “perform” at his Christmas program. Can you spot him up at the top (center, green shirt)? I could just eat him up!
If you saw my Instagram photo a couple of days ago, you saw this! I mean, I really didn’t expect anything less. Oh Maddox! And B was just the cutest thing ever. Said he was on the nice list (uh huh okay) and wanted a choo choo for Christmas (glad he forgot about that $100 race track he’s been asking for all month)! Santa asked him to leave him some cookies and carrots for the reindeer! So we’ll have to remember to do that.
I took these two cheese balls on a lunch date this week! I’m really going to miss these moments. And where do my kids’ eyes go when they smile?
This is my favorite recipe this week! It’s Paula Dean’s EASY potato soup!
You need: Large bag of shredded hashbrowns (around 30oz), 2 cans chicken broth, 1 can cream of chicken soup, 1/2 onion, pepper, and 1 block cream cheese.
Directions: Saute onion in a little olive oil in a large pot, add broth, soup, and hashbrowns. Pepper to taste. Cook on low-medium heat until potatoes are cooked (about 30 minutes). Add cream cheese and cook another 30 minutes or so. The cooking times and temp is not a science…I just kind of heated it all up. 🙂
You can also throw everything in a slow cooker and cook on low 4-5 hours, then add cream cheese the last 30 minutes.
Topped it with freshly cooked bacon and some cheddar cheese. Oh.My.Word. So easy, so good, and great as leftovers (and I’m not a leftover person).
Probably my favorite treat ever! This treat has many different names but I refer to it as “Christmas Crack” because it is the most addicting thing you’ll eat (I didn’t come up with that name..this treat has been called that among other things, but I go with that name). My friend Kristen brought this to the Christmas party and my goodness, it’s good. I’ll share her “recipe” next week. There are versions all over Pinterest, but I haven’t seen one exactly with the formula she gave me! This would be perfect to give to neighbors or along side a small gift for teachers. And GREAT at a party!
In October I shared how I stay organized and debt free for Christmas! Well, this year I am really on top of it! That is usually not the case. I have kept really good notes, documented each purchase, and am in line with our budgeted amount for this year! This year we set a smaller budget than year’s past and I am still within it! I am so excited to gift people this year and can’t wait till Christmas! I’m almost done too (I’m usually shopping the day before Christmas so this is big for me).
And speaking of gifts, I found a great gift idea from Cara at Pearls, Handcuffs, and Happy Hour. Her tag that she included (and has for download) said, “The SNUGGLE is real”, but I just attached this gift tag I had around this leopard fleece blanket found at Walmart. She mentioned the blankets were $4, but when I got there, they were only $2.98!!! I gave each of the boys’ teachers one of these with a small gift card tied around the bow! Each gift was under $8 and I thought they turned out cute!
Hope you have a great weekend!
