This week went by super fast and we’re ending the week with some rain around here. It will be the perfect day to hit the gym, then stay home and bake, clean, read, and let the kids watch a movie! Ryan is gone this evening and tomorrow, so it’s just the boys and I. Here are some favorites from the week!
First up is our trip to the Home Depot Kid’s Workshop last Saturday. The first Saturday of the month, they have a fun “workshop” for kids. They built a firetruck and then got to paint it and add stickers. Maddox (2yrs) actually did very well with this. I was looking away when I turned around to see that he had figured out how to add the wheels with a hammer. They also had a bounce house, snow cones, a police officer handing out stickers, and a photo prop. All free. We did this before Beckham’s soccer game!
One of my favorite moments this week was when Beckham said he wanted to play school. He set the school up all by himself. I pulled out a Preschool workbook I had (got it at Walmart) and had him do some pages. He also liked when I (the teacher), told him what to write. He set out a snack too for snack time. 🙂
Here he was working by himself in his workbook. I’d explain how to do an activity in there and come back to check on him. This boy is go-go-go all the time, so I eat up these moments when he’s still, especially learning!
I had an appointment after I dropped the boys off at preschool and had an hour to kill, so I went downtown and grabbed my favorite drink and breakfast sandwich at Snug Cafe! I asked for a half sandwich…look how big that is! It was a nice treat!
I was pretty pumped yesterday when this book came in the mail. Love Your Life, Not Theirs is the title. I have a feeling I will love this book. Even though Ryan and I are good with our money, I definitely struggle with comparison, so I’m excited to read this. Rachel Cruze is Dave Ramsey’s daughter and a great speaker/writer. She’s a little younger than me, but wise beyond her years. She also writes Smart Money Smart Kids. I’ll let you know how I like this.

This picture cracks me up because if you had seen how he “rode” this scooter… Ryan decided to take the boys to the bank (about a quarter mile from our house). He let B ride his bike and M ride this scooter. Well I’m pretty sure a snail would have moved faster. He took the tiniest little steps and did it THE ENTIRE WAY. When Ryan tried to help him at all, he threw a fit! I saw the boys coming back and Ryan looked completely defeated as Maddox was slowly inching behind him. He said, “that’s the worst decision I’ve ever made…never again.”
And lastly, I finally bought some of the yummiest salsa ever…Mateo’s Salsa! A girl from my MOPS group is the wife of the owner! You can order it online or buy it in most grocery stores. I like the mild version shown below…I don’t like super spicy, but they have it. Chips and salsa is what we live for here in Texas, so when I say it’s good, trust me!
Well, that’s it for Friday favorites. Make sure to check out Monday’s post on working out…another favorite of mine. And I have a pretty good giveaway coming soon! I can’t wait to share the goodies!
As always, linking up for Friday Favorites!
