There are a lot of things I’ve been loving lately and I thought I would share some of my favorite things every so often on Fridays.
I love these shorts for several reasons. First, they are comfortable and stylish. Comfort is definitely #1 priority for me. They have some stretch to them (but not spandexy), so they are super comfortable, while they don’t cut into your stomach. Secondly, they are cheap! $12 a pair. The quality is great. My absolute favorite shorts (not these) are from Kohl’s and I’ll die if they ever get too small or wear out. I got them when I was pregnant (elastic band), and I still wear them to this day. Lastly, they have several different colors you can choose from. I have yellow and turquoise. They are found in the junior’s department (I just get a bigger size). The perfect summer short!
Best $10 we have invested in this summer. Beckham loves this thing. It squirts water up on all sides of it and it only fills up about 2 inches so it’s safer than a pool. Yes, I still watch him closely, but he falls down all the time and easily gets back up on his own. I put his slide on the pad to slide down into the water and he loved that also. I threw it in my basket at Big Lots when I saw it was only $10.
I have tried several different nail polishes. This brand is great. It’s only $1.99 (at Wal-Mart) and stays on quite well. I use a bottom coat of clear and one thick coat of this color on top. I never use a clear top coat as I find my polish chips quicker if I do. I love this color because it’s pinkish-red. Two of my favorite colors on nails.
This is their summer featured drink. I get mine with non-fat milk and no whip. Cuts down on calories, but still tastes yummy. Now, to balance back those calories (and more), I get their pumpkin bread. Lol. I am obsessed with this stuff. I won’t even tell you how many calories are in it. I know, and I still eat it, it’s that good. Stinks that it’s a $4 drink, but a good treat every now and then.
I pretty much like coffee WITH my coffee creamer. I can’t drink coffee with it. I’ve tried tons of different kinds and the “natural” part of this made me pick it up. It is SOO good. If you like creamer, you will love this kind. I feel a little better about drinking creamer in my coffee with it having no artificial flavors.
Eek! Unpolished nails and no make-up. You bet there is a filter on this photo. I am reading this book, Balanced Living by Focus on the Family, for my summer Bible study group. I’m loving it, as balance is something I always struggle with, especially as a new mom with a blog and a business, who’s also a perfectionist. It is extremely helpful and encouraging. There is tons of scripture references so it guides my reading in the Bible. Once I get into the Bible, I have a hard time putting it down. It’s taking that time to prioritize and dive in. I would love to wake up in the morning and read, but nighttime works better for me in this stage of my life. It helps me get to sleep better too. Is that bad to say? Ha. Reading makes me sleepy. I would recommend this book to women. Even better in a Bible study where you can share thoughts with Christian women.
I saw this idea HERE and thought I would try it. Woah! These things are delish! I stuffed mine with veggies. A cool spin on the famous quesadilla. This is great for kids because they can decorate it themselves and they’ll love it. Kids tend to eat better when they help prepare the food. I wish adults were like that. I enjoy food much more when someone else prepares it.
I have a problem with baking too many sweets. I decided to stop making as much, if any, so I resorted to having a couple of these in place of my baked goods. Surprisingly, I only eat a couple. 4 = 180 calories. I don’t like almonds, but I know they are good for you. Coated in chocolate? Ok, I’ll eat them. Hey, it’s dark chocolate. Plus, I always like having a little candy out when people come over.
