Last Thursday, I decided to attempt a DITL for my blog. I snapped pictures all day long and tried to document as much as I could. If you’re new, I’m a stay at home mom full time, but also run a small business (I do work whenever there is time, which usually results in late late nights).
I always love looking back at these since this season of life with young kids is so unpredictable. So here we go, a day in my life on Thursday, June 22, 2017.
Every single morning I do the same thing when I wake up…brush my teeth and wash my face. My day started at 8:30am. Ryan was gone doing some testing for summer school. During the summer, my kids sleep pretty late (we can’t get to bed early).
Around 9:00, the boys woke up, got dressed, and I made the boys breakfast. I went real healthy with powdered donuts and strawberries. I also made some pigs in a blanket.
At 9:30, I drank some coffee and got some tasks done while the kids played on the bounce house. Every now and then we pull out the bounce house for the kids to play on.
I cleaned up the kitchen and packed away some ripe bananas for the freezer. I keep these in the freezer for later when I decide to make banana bread.
After some hard jumping, around 10:00, the kids got to watch a show while I got ready for the day. I had a hair appointment at 10:45 at my gym so they have childcare.
My appointment lasted about 2 hours and then we got some frozen yogurt afterwards. We ran through Chickfila and grabbed a little lunch.
Next up we went to wash my car. It was pretty messy and needed a wash. The boys played in the back of my car on my phone while I vacuumed the inside and wiped it down. I finished up around 2:45.
When we came home, Ryan was back and he watched the kids while I went to get a pedicure. I know this sounds like a pampered day for me…and it kind of was. My phone died at the place.
I got home and did a little work. This was some new low lights. I’m slowly going darker to see if I like it.
Ryan had to leave to ref some basketball so the kids and I went to my parents and hung out with them for a bit. My sister was in town and my boys are obsessed with my new niece, so we went over there to see them.
It’s crazy, my niece has these blue eyes and her parents both have brown eyes. We’re assuming she got them from my mom. I’m curious what our third baby will have. Both our boys have brown eyes…mine our hazel (but they started like my boys), Ryan has blue, his whole family has blue, and my family all have different colors (brown, green, blue). Genes are so interesting to me.
I have a feeling my boys will thrive as older brothers to their younger sister.
I didn’t take any more photos that night but we headed back late and the kids went straight to bed. I’m a bath every night kind of mom, but the pool did the cleaning this night.
Not a typical day in the life as it’s summer and our schedule is inconsistent, but it nonetheless, a day in my life.

And it was such a great day…family, a little pampering, and a slow morning. Absolutely perfect!!

So fun! I love these kind of posts. That’s amazing that you can get childcare in the gym for working out and getting your hair done. I like it darker!
