Update after appointment: I’m 2cm dilated and 40% effaced. Which basically means I could deliver tomorrow or 2 weeks from now 🙂 My new motto in this pregnancy is “Nothing is everything and everything is nothing”…meaning, no matter what I’m feeling or what is going on with my body, it really doesn’t mean anything is going to happen.
As far as how I’m feeling/progressing, I don’t “feel” like I’m getting closer. My mom asked how I felt this week and I honestly felt “peaceful” this week in the sense that I’m ready. She used the word “euphoric” which I think is a pretty good word (minus the physical pain if that makes sense). My BH contractions are still the same. The only difference is being able to walk less. Like I mentioned above, my feet start tingling from swelling and this June heat is really adding to the pain. Feels like sprained ankles when I move them from side to side. I have to stop more too, almost in an effort to “pick my stomach up”…the female human body amazes me. I have no idea how my body is holding a 7+ pound baby inside my abdomen. It truly is God’s creation. On a TMI note, I’m pretty sure my mucus plug came out after my internal exam last Tuesday (37 weeks). I won’t go into details (this blog is an open book, but not that open). 🙂 But of course that doesn’t really mean anything earth shattering. I’m praying for some progression at my appointment this Tuesday!
How far along? 38 weeks
Total weight gain/loss? 34 pounds total (2 pounds this week)
How big is baby? Size of a pumpkin. Here’s what Baby Center says about 38 weeks: Yow! If you feel a sort of lightening bolt running up and down your legs (and in your crotch), don’t freak out. At 38 weeks, baby’s probably sitting pretty low in your pelvis, which means he’s bumping into all kinds of nerves down there — including some pretty sensitive ones you might not know you had. Totally true!
Stretch marks? OMG. I’m pretty sure I have 3 small marks (purple) on my side area. Another reason, I need this baby to come soon. I may be an Olympic sweller during pregnancy, but I was happy to not have stretch marks. Hopefully they’re not too permanent afterwards (if these are stretch marks indeed).
Sleep? Pshhh! What’s that?
Fitness? Bahahaha.
Best moment this week? Got my car detailed (and installing car seat tonight hopefully)! We are constantly checking things off our lists lately, which is always nice.
Miss anything? Feeling good again. And sitting like a lady.
Food cravings? I’m still craving sugar, but I’m also really thirsty! Wanting lots of fruit too, but I usually do in the summer.
Anything making you queasy or sick? No.
Current Symptoms? Physical pain in feet, right knee (can’t kneel), and hands. BH contractions (slightly more though). Lost mucus plug on Tuesday.
Belly button in or out? Out.
Wedding rings on or off? Off.
Mood? This week I was actually pretty good, but yesterday was a rough day for me. I had to run a few errands for Father’s Day, which proved to be too much. So then I got mad I haven’t had the baby yet. I keep telling myself, God has the perfect day he wants this baby to come.
Name Update: Well, there isn’t an update. We still have NO name, nor do we really even have front runners. We actually don’t like talking about it together because we disagree so much. With Beckham, we had Beckham and Liam to choose from. I don’t want Liam anymore, but we don’t even have a few to choose from…we have like 20! Ones that keep coming up though are: Landon, Maddox, Everett, Garrett, and I still love Bennett and Brody, but Ryan does not like those.
Hang in there, hopefully he'll come soon! I agree with the "sitting like a lady", haha there is just no comfortable positions at all this far along, let alone any "ladylike" positions. 🙂
oh momma….hang in there. You are still looking great! This baby is coming very soon and needs a name. My husband and I couldn't make a decision on a name for our Owen, so we each chose our top two and picked it out of the hat. The only stipulation was if one of us was COMPLETEY against a name. BTW: I am 14 weeks pregnant right now and had Bennett as a name (family name), but we found out we are having a girl. So, I am partial to that one. 😉 Good luck!
