Well, it’s Friday once again and we have a super busy weekend planned. My little sister is coming into town for a wedding and we’re also throwing her a baby shower on Sunday. We also have another soccer game, swimming at family’s house, and getting together with my family before my sister goes back to Louisiana!
My Friday favorites started last Saturday!
{ONE}: BECKHAM’S FIRST SOCCER GAME
This is definitely my favorite!!! I’ve been waiting so long for B to be able to play. He could’ve started a couple of years ago, but I wanted to wait till he was almost 5 (which I still think is super early). It is so weird to have a kid playing the sport I played almost every day of my life growing up. He seems to love it and has practiced in the house every day since his game last Saturday.
I learned very quickly what type of player he might be…aggressive, always wants the ball, super competitive, and very fast. At one point, he started pushing people during the end of the game. I asked him about it afterward and he said he saw the girl do it on TV so that’s why he did it (figured out he was talking about the Olympics). He legitimately thought that’s how you played. Yikes. Guess we should have talked about that. He is a very physically aggressive person in general, so I’m nervous, although we’ve talked about how you can’t push during the game…at least for now…gotta use those arms later 🙂 All other traits are exactly how I was (and Ryan also) as a player. I can’t wait to see how he develops. It’s super cute watching those little boys play. My expectations were really low, so I was pleasantly surprised.
There he is below…#18!
Meanwhile, little brother was crawling all over me.
{TWO}: MY BOYS
Of course they’re my favorite, but this week I had some moments that really revealed to me how blessed I am to stay home with them. I only have one more year with Beckham at home and that makes me kind of sad. He is definitely made for a busy social setting, but I just can’t believe the time is coming to a close. I will soak up these moments we have at home together, just the 3 of us!
We were exiting the grocery store last Wednesday and I looked in the cart with so much joy! There are some super difficult moments, but most of them are great…I will always remember these simple activities like going to the grocery store.
{THREE}: BEER BATTERED BREAD
I had a few beers leftover from Beeritas when we had company, so I decided to make some bread! This bread is one of my absolute favorites and is SOOOO easy to make.
{FOUR}: CARRIE UNDERWOOD CONCERT
Last Tuesday, Ryan took me to go see Carrie Underwood in Dallas. This was my third time to see her and her concerts really are amazing! I took lots of video, but it was hard to make out any pictures. My mother in law watched the boys so we were able to go to dinner beforehand. It was a fun mid-week date night!
{FIVE}: WHITE CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER
I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned this peanut butter before, but it’s a must! I snapped this pic to send to a friend, so I thought I’d share it. My favorite way to eat this is spread over a warm waffle (so it melts), drizzled with sugar free syrup (you don’t even need the syrup). If you’re a PB lover, you must try this.
{SIX}: A VERY CLEAN KITCHEN (NEW ROUTINE)
In my post on Monday, I talked all about how I get things done. Cleaning is one of those things that can get overwhelming, especially with young kids. I started a new routine (you can read here) and the first week concentrates on deep cleaning the kitchen. You guys, my kitchen is spotless! I cleaned every crevice in sight (and not in sight). It feels absolutely amazing. I still need to drill in the new hardware for the drawers, but am waiting on a tool needed to do it (hence the missing hardware). The cleaning took me a lot longer than I expected so we will see how it all goes once I’ve deep cleaned the entire house. I did start with the most difficult zone in my house though.
Well, I hope you have a great weekend! Can’t wait to read some other posts in the link up.

There is nothing cuter than a little kid playing sports and nothing better than a spotless kitchen! Have a great weekend
