August 10! Today is a special day! The day we got married SIX years ago in Carrollton, Texas. It was hot, but I was so pumped to FINALLY marry this man God had so purposely set in my path. I planned the wedding myself, with my mom, PRE-Pinterest. Yep, I had to Google any ideas I wanted for my wedding.
It’s crazy to think how many memories we’ve created already as a married couple! Moved into a house together (first time living with one another). I got my first teaching job. We joined Fellowship Church. We’ve been on tons of vacations since then. Paid off our house. Ryan achieved college level officiating. We were blessed with a little boy who has really showed us what love is all about! My life long dream became reality as a stay at home mom. I started my own business. And many more memories…
You always hear people ask, “How do you know when they’re the one?” This was easy for me. He made me a better woman…a woman of God. I knew no matter what happened in our marriage, his foundation was ROCK solid in Christ. This gave me such a peace of mind because so many problems can be tackled when God is the center of your marriage. Marriage is tough…it’s a commitment. But I’m blessed to have a husband who will treat me well and father our children the most important way! I’m so undeserving of him! Thank you Lord for crossing our paths.
Three things I look back on and love about OUR marriage:
1. We waited to move in with one another…among other things
2. We paid off our house BEFORE children.
3. We gave ourselves time to be married before children.
Now our # 1 priority as a married couple is to show Beckham what a great marriage is! I believe that is the best thing we can do as parents. God’s relationship with the church is portrayed in a Godly marriage on Earth, so we have to show this to our children. I know we WILL mess up and regret things, but that’s life! I just pray God can give me strength and wisdom to be the best wife I can be. Lord knows I need help! Lol (is that ok to use in a blog post?). A little trip down memory lane…

Love all of your Texas pictures. I haven't been up in Reunion Tower in years, but heard it's improved. We just moved from Plano, Texas where my family still lives. Cute family!

Thanks Jessica! Plano is 15 minutes from our house! We go to church in Plano (Fellowship Church).

Congratulations on 6 years! My husband and I are just about at 1.5 years and we love it. I love what you said about how you knew your husband was the one – He makes you a better woman – a woman of God. That is absolutely amazing in a marriage, and that is also how I knew my husband was the one for me.
