Let me start by saying this last week and a half was one of the worst weeks I’ve had in quite a while (minus my birthday weekend). I had (have) four different illnesses in the last eight days – some contagious, some not. Luckily, on Friday, Saturday, and most of Sunday of my birthday weekend, I was feeling good. All this on top of taking care of a 15 month old by myself! Hubby was gone every evening for work.
So my goal each day was to survive! I didn’t care about being fit, didn’t care about blogging, didn’t care about cooking, and I barely cared if Beckham was having a useful day…as long as he wasn’t yelling at me! Needless to say, my “fitness” right now is bleh! You would’ve thought I lost weight right? Nope. Gained 3 pounds…what the heck? Just glad to be somewhat back on the saddle and motivated to get healthy again.
UPDATE FROM CHALLENGE #3 & #4: Smoothies and No Soda
Well, I didn’t drink any sodas (minus the one on my birthday) and I actually didn’t really miss them. Can’t say I felt any better based on the week I had, but I do feel better about not filling my body with those chemicals. I drank a smoothie one day, so I pretty much failed that challenge. I plan to continue do that still.
CHALLENGE #5: WORKOUT
I gotta get this rear end moving! I feel so lethargic and overweight and I know working out will help! Unfortunately, I cannot go to the gym where I really thrive at working out due to Beckham’s separation anxiety stage (it hurts too much to leave him there, plus they’re not very patient with a screaming toddler). So, I will resort to working out at home. At least until Ryan is done reffing and I can go to the gym 2-3 times a week when he’s home at night. I really don’t know how single moms do it. This seriously motivates me…
My plan this week is to FIND WHAT WORKS AT HOME and simply DO SOMETHING. I have a treadmill, 5 pound dumbbells, a yoga mat, and Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. My goal is to do the 30 Day Shred and run! Depending on how I feel the next day I may have to alternate them. And if the weather permits, I’ll take Beckham for a walk in his stroller. He much rather walk (and will throw a fit if he can’t), so we’ll see how long I can go. I still have my games on Tuesdays thank goodness. I wish I could play everyday! It’s such good exercise. Wish me luck and a sick free week!

Good luck! I hope the weather cooperates so you can go for a run/walk to a park with Beckham. Maybe use the play ground equipment for stepping or pull ups or something?
